Yahoo!/Geocities has AGAIN revised their' Terms of Service posted at http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/
But I (and many others) still can not accept the fact that they claim the right to reproduce and modify content of my pages whenever they care to do so.

Heres the latest version:

7. CONTENT SUBMITTED TO YAHOO GEOCITIES Yahoo does not claim ownership of the Content you place on your Yahoo GeoCities Site. By submitting Content to Yahoo for inclusion on your Yahoo GeoCities Site, you grant Yahoo the world-wide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish the Content solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting your Yahoo GeoCities Site on Yahoo's Internet properties. This license exists only for as long as you continue to be a Yahoo GeoCities homesteader and shall be terminated at the time your Yahoo GeoCities Site is terminated.

Previously... (Revision #2):

8. PUBLIC CONTENT POSTED TO YAHOO

(a) For purposes of the TOS, "publicly accessible areas of the Service" are those accessible by the general public. By way of example, a publicly accessible area of the Service would include public Yahoo! Clubs and Yahoo! Message Boards, but would not include private Yahoo! Clubs or private Yahoo communication services such as Yahoo! Mail or Yahoo! Messenger.

(b) With respect to Content you elect to post for inclusion in publicly accessible areas of Yahoo! Clubs or that consists of photos or other graphics you elect to post to any other publicly accessible area of the Service, you grant Yahoo the world-wide, royalty free and non-exclusive license to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish such Content on the Service solely for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting the specific Yahoo! Club to which such Content was submitted, or, in the case of photos or graphics, solely for the purpose for which such photo or graphic was submitted to the Service. This license exists only for as long as you elect to continue to include such Content on the Service and shall be terminated at the time you delete such Content from the Service.

(c) With respect to all other Content you elect to post to other publicly accessible areas of the Service, you grant Yahoo the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

And before that there was the first TOS:

8. CONTENT SUBMITTED TO YAHOO By submitting Content to any Yahoo property, you automatically grant, or warrant that the owner of such Content has expressly granted, Yahoo the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and fully sublicensable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, perform and display such Content (in whole or part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media, or technology now known or later developed.

You can also read the recent article about it on Wired's website. and chime in on their Rants & Raves Board

That is just unacceptable! Especially since we post a lot of artwork and custom images. My apologies for the inconvenience...Feel free to give Yahoo! a piece of your mind.
