THE FOLLOWERS OF SET:
Commonly referred to as Setites, these Kindred are renowned for their ability to deceive and corrupt. Only in recent times has their reputation been put aside to allow their membership as a Camarilla Clan, and even still they are treated with the greatest amount of caution.
Stats on the Followers of Set: Perhaps the greatest strength of the Followers of Set is their uncommonly addictive blood. Setites can literally steal ghouls right out from underneath their Regnants' noses, thus creating perfect spies. In contrast to their strong Disciplines( the shadowy deceptiveness of Obfuscate, the dark charm of Presence, and their unique skill of Serpentis), the Setites have a special aversion to the light. Much as their namesake must exist in darkness, indeed his Followers are also subject to the same curse.
Accursed are you of all animals wild and tame! On your belly you will go and on dust you will feed as long as you live. I shall put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; it will bruise your head and you will strike its heel. - Genesis 3:14,15
The Followers of Set, or Setites as they often call themselves, constitute one of the most widely loathed clans in the world. The Camarilla decision to ask the Setites to join came only after weeks of divisive debate, and the fact that few Setites responded to the call was met with a wave of relief from the young sect.
The Followers of Set hold their lineage to Set of Egyptian mythology, and such lore pervades the culture of the clan. Set felt himself betrayed by the Antediluvians, declared war on them all, and created his Progeny for the sole purpose of defeating them. His Jyhad has never ended and seeks always to corrupt and destroy all that the Antediluvians have accomplished. Set's control of Egypt was finally ended by the spread of the Roman Empire despite all his efforts to stop it (Cleopatra was his Ghoul), and the Setites view Rome as the stronghold of Ventrue power, and have a special place in their hearts for them. Masters of moral and spiritual corruption, they seem to have an uncanny ability to find the weakness in any organization or individual, as well as an irresistible urge to exploit it. Drugs, sex, money and power are their weapons of corruption, and they take great delight in using them against Kindred and Kine alike. Fierce, cunning and amoral manipulators, the Setites believe that the power of decay and corruption is absolute.
Disciplines: Obfuscate , Presence, Serpentis
Clan Advantage: The Followers of Set are all extremely well connected in the criminal underworld. Consequently, they automatically start with one additional Influence in Politics, Street, or Underworld (at the player's discretion).
Clan Disadvantage: Setites are extremely susceptible to sunlight. Double the Health Levels inflicted from any exposure to it. They are also susceptible to bright lights and are one bid down on all challenges while in bright light (i.e. spotlights, nightclub strobe lights, searchlights, magnesium flares, etc.).
Organization: The Followers of Set do not get along at all well, and tend to keep themselves isolated from one another. They do not trust each other, but will work together to further their common goals. They tend to set themselves up in small cults or temples dedicated to Set. Of course, one of the greatest accomplishment any Setite can make is to corrupt one of their own.
