Born in Burke County, NC. His occupations include minister,
carpenter, brick mason, potter and farmer. He served as a
3rd Lieutenant in Company K, 35th Regiment, NC Troops,
Confederate Army. He donated the land to build Snow Hill
Baptist Church although he and his family were methodists.
He and Belzora are both buried there.
Belzora claimed to be descended from Pocohanas although
she is not listed as a descendant.

who married Frances Wyont on
25-Nov-1866, attended Rutherford College and was the
presiding Elder of Western NC M.E. Conference;
2. James Picney Whitford (2-Feb-1852 to 9-Mar-1909) who married
Fannie Robinson on 15-Feb-1871, then an unknown Brannock,
and was a preacher, farmer, merchant, magistrate, and
mayor;
3. Frances Loretta (6-Mar-1854 to 20-Oct-1911) who
married Lemuel
Winesett on 1-Sep-1870);
4. Barbara Josephine (27-Jul-1857 to 19-Feb-1919)
and married Freel Brannock;
5. Enoch LaFayette (6-Sep-1860
to 17-Oct-1944 who studied at Oak Hill Academy, Catawha
College, Vanderbilt University, University of NC, Atlanta
Medical College and post graduate medical school in New
York City and who married Mary Annie Barnes 29-Oct-1890;
6. Jackson Lee (1-Oct-1866 and DoD unknown) and then
married Electra Harold 21-Jul-1890 at Mount Aery, NC.

7. Robert Andrew Forney (B 1-Oct-1866 and DoD unknown). Married
Maud Pryot in Nov-1886, moved to WA in 1888, married Bessie
Brannock 25-Mar-1905, moved to Idaho in 1907. Eli Winesett
stayed with Forney in Olympia WA in 1890's where he first began
racing bicycles.;
8. Samuel Davis (B 23-May-1870 and D 23-Jul-1903). Sam
preached until health failed. Married Laura Parks and
then Jennie Russell;
9. Sarah Lucinda (14-Sep-1871 to 6-Aug-1921)
and married J.E. Dodson (31-Dec-1893);
10. Martha Malinda (14-Sep-1871 to 27-Sep-1906) who was the twin of Sarah.
Married Franklin Pell 21-Dec-1892), and
11. Lily Chipman (6-Aug-1876 to DoD unknown). Married T. Herring
and moved to Winston-Salem NC.
