Born 21-Aug-1915 in Virginia

Kate was a gracious lady and very interested in the welfare of her family. She suffered a stroke and was bed ridden several years. The webmaster found a newspaper index card which lists Kate as "Kaytre" in the announcement of their marriage. The wibmaster never heard this version of her name before.

Dr. Bill was from Hillsville, NC, and practiced medicine many years in Whiteville and was known and respected by everyone.

The Webmaster spent a few summers with Aunt Kate and Uncle Bill as a pre-teen. Time was filled with swimming lessons, fishing and numerous projects. Also remembered are blackberry pies made from berries that Billy [Jr.] and the Webmaster picked and the rope swing located in a nearby wooded area.

Bill and Kate's children are a son, William A. Jr., and an adopted daughter, Katherine. Katherine had an early death under tragic circumstances.

Billy married Becky. Their children are daughters, Clark and Alysia, and son, Brandon.
