This was a difficult song to adapt due to it's complexity. Not every alternate word or phrase I tried was singable (I DON'T sing). This was important because the song was to be recorded and used during an upcomming
Internet "Radio" Show. AND we had to be ready to record 2 1/2 days after being asked.
My thanks to Jill, Dave, and Steph for not killing either each other or me as we struggled to balance "singablilty" with lyrical integrity. Thanks to Rex for keeping everyone mostly sane while he was recording us.
This version is based on a karaoke version of Love Shack, and thus differs slightly from the B-52's' version. Some lines have been added, altered, or removed; but we had to have the karaoke music to sing to for the recording. I will try to get the matching music uploaded soon. After hearing the broadcast I have decided NOT to include a vocal version here. It sounded horrible, and the vocals and music, which were recorded as two separate tracks, did not get synchronized. Public opinion from the show's chat room was unanimously negative.
Male vocals are indicated by blue
or black text, and female vocals by pink. Text in parentheses ( ) indicates an overlapping vocal. Text in brackets [ ] is anecdotal information.
