Summary: Lucas takes out the trash and lands in trouble.

Cleaning out the seaQuest computer mail trash can, Lucas was amusing himself reading the titles of various messages and trying to figure out what was in them. He would never open the message and read it, of course. That would be unethical. Well, maybe occasionally. For example, what would Tim O'Neill be doing with something called "Hot Babes Going Down"? That one almost tempted him. And something to Lonnie called, interestingly enough, "Minotaur Sex Tips". That one was a real eye-opener and Lucas quickly shut it again. On second thought, he copied it to a secure file, then continued with his chore.

It was one of Miguel's that got him, though. "Naked_Ari.jpg".

She'd kill him if she found out. Maybe it wasn't even her. Probably a composite. But ... If anyone had it, it would be Miguel. Except, if Miguel had it, he wouldn't have left it in the trash can, would he? But no one knew that Lucas occasionally relieved the tedium of the task by reading through what his friends threw out.

He nodded, looking around to be sure that no one was watching, and opened the attachment. There was a loud blatting noise as the seaQuest sirens announced 'Battle Stations' and the lights began to flicker on and off. Lucas jumped to his feet and ran for the bridge, surprised, scared and intensely curious. When he got there, he stopped short, stunned into immobility.

Every vid screen on the bridge carried the message, "Lucas Wolenczak reads trash mail" on it. Miguel and Tim were sniggering and Tony was holding out his hand to Ari, shaking it in a 'pay me' gesture. She was as red faced as Lucas felt, and the look she gave the young computer expert as she anted up what was obviously a losing bet promised that hell definitely hath no fury like what she had in mind for him. Fire in her eyes, she started toward him. He looked around, trying to find a way out, stuttering in an attempt to explain.

"LUCAS!" The bellow of rage could only have come from Bridger. With a sigh of relief, he turned to face his captain. At least HIM he could reason with.
