HELP Meeeeeeeee !

Windows 95 only I'm afraid

To adjust your sound settings check your volume settings first.

Double click on the little speaker icon near the time in the task bar

OR

CLICK START on the Task Bar SELECT PROGRAMS
then SELECT ACCESSORIES
then SELECT MULTIMEDIA
then SELECT VOLUME CONTROL

 

A window that looks like this should appear.

  1. Make sure they are all turned up a bit.

  2. Make sure the "MUTE" box isn't checked - this turns off all sound for each device.

  3. Make sure "BALANCE" slider is in the middle.

  4. Sometimes "ADVANCED" isn't there or doesn't work - dont worry.

  5. NEVER serve spinache with ice-cream. It's FOUL.

 


Sometimes Windows lets you do things that you should not. Changing your audio settings MIGHT leave you with NO SOUND. Fortunately you wrote down your original settings - DIDN ' T YOU


Do you have a wavetable sound card ?

 

 

( Sound Blaster 32, Vibra 32, AWE 32/64, Turtle Beach, etc )

If your midi files sound like crap, Windows and / or Games may be using the old fashioned FM synthesis to generate music. This is a dead ugly way to make music, but is often included for compatability reasons. To make sure you are getting the most out of a top end sound card, check your

"MIDI SETTINGS"

CLICK START on the Task Bar SELECT SETTINGS
then SELECT CONTROL PANEL
then SELECT MULTIMEDIA
then CLICK "MIDI" tab

 

 

You may need to restart your computer.
