C. S. Lewis, Page 1: The "Narnia" and "Space Trilogy" Series

Below you will find listings for individual books stocked by Amazon.com. I have grouped them first by series and second by title. Since each of these titles comes in more than one edition, so I have tried to give you as much information as possible to help you make your selection. Note: A book graphic next to a title indicates that I personally have read and enjoyed this book. In fact, it may very well be in my own library.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Space Trilogy:

The Chronicles of Narnia: A literary classic. These so-called "children's books" have proven to be just as fascinating to adults as young ones, thanks in part to their allegorical subtext. The plot, in a nutshell: a series of children cross over to an alternate reality called Narnia, where they encounter talking animals, witches, assorted monsters both good and bad, and the great Lion Aslan.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Prince Caspian: the Return to Narnia
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
The Silver Chair
The Horse and His Boy
The Magician's Nephew
The Last Battle

The Space Trilogy: This science fiction series is definitely adult-oriented. It has an H.G. Wells-ish feel and an explicitly Christian message. Very profound, especially Perelandra, the second and best of the series.
Out of the Silent Planet: mild-mannered Professor Ransom is shanghaid to Mars, where he escapes his captors and befriends a triad of alien races. Patronizing at first, Ransom quickly learns that the Martians have more to teach him than he does them.
Perelandra: This time Ransom is sent to Venus, an ocean world whose "Eve" is on the verge of being tempted by a modern "serpent." Can Ransom prevent a repetition of the Fall that crippled his own planet?
That Hideous Strength: A secret society plotting world domination thinks it's found Merlin's grave--and Merlin himself, still alive. Professor Ransom and a small group of friends try to prevent catasrophe...on their own planet, this time.
