Legion Tactical Operations
The personal vessel of the Legion Tactical Operations Officer is the IMV Genestealer.
The Genestealer is a proud ship, with a proud heritage. The Linelord of the Reshtarc Line once commanded this ship. And it has survived numerous battles against the Dominion, Jahzil, Romulans, Cardassians and even the very Reshtarc coup that put Marrik joH into power.
The name Genestealer, reflects the story of the "Beast of Keraxis". The story tells of a terrible beast, with razor sharp claws and teeth, that crawls though the ventilation shafts of the industrial cities, seeking fresh bodies. The creature takes much more than just flesh or blood. Its venom makes even the strongest warrior its slave. As the poison spreads through the body, it takes control of the bodies very genetic structure, altering and twisting, until either the victim goes insane and dies from the excruciating pain, or becomes a monster itself. The story has continued to keep its hold on Keraxis though, the toxic atmosphere has been known to cause mutations and other strange growths, often causing the more superstitious populace to rise up and kill anyone believed to be showing any "Marks of the Genestealer".
Imperial Scientists however, have attributed all this as nonsense. They say that the strange mutations are caused by pollutants, the madness and insanity are caused by nothing more than claustrophobia or cabin fever. They say there are no monsters on Keraxis. Ask a native, and they'll tell you different.
The IMV Genestealer has a long combat record over its six year lifespan. It was designed by ReCAL as a brother ship to the IKV Stormbringer(currently designated IMV Dissident Agressor), and is considered the pinnical of Klingon Scout Vessel Technology. Shortly after its delivery to Captain Marrik tai-Reshtarc, the Genestealer was assigned to the 4th Fleet, to engage in anti-pirate activites and border security patrols along the Imperial Frontier commonly called "The Triangle".
Under Marrik, the Genestealer encountered and defeated numerous foes. The ship in particular distinguished itself during the Invasion of Cardassia, the Defense of Reva IV and the actions surrounding the Kinshaya Wormhole. These earned Marrik a promotion to Colonel.
Shortly after the Dominion Wormhole Invasion, the Reshtarc Linelord K'Paal went mad, and began executing Reshtarc Marines. Colonel Marrik was himself judged a traitor by K'Paal and sentanced to death. The IMV Genestealer was once again to figure prominantly. A small group of Commando's, led by Colonel Marrik and including Brigadier MalaH zantai-Gholjub as an observer, entered the Mempa Sector. Using secret access codes the ship delivered the commando's to Behacor Prime, and led to Marrik seizing the Linelordship of the Reshtarc.
Marrik joH retired from Military service to rule the Reshtarc, and placed the Genestealer in the hands of Colonel MaS'ich sutai-Reshtarc. MaS'ich led the ship to further combat during limited engagements in the Triangle and numerous scouting missions to establish a forward base for the 4th Legion.
During a lull in battle, the IMV Genestealer was stolen from Strikebase Vengeance by two marines, Warrant Officer Morrok Reshtarc and Sergeant Meq'Tok Reshtarc. These two delinquents managed to damage most of the ships systems, including having to eject the warp core, before their capture on Risa.
Currently the IMV Genestealer serves as the personal vessel of the Legion Tactical Operations Officer, Colonel MaS'ich and is undergoing repairs.
