Raw Materials

For some zones, the gemstones which litter our world's will be prized commodities, particularly the hard diamonds, which to us are mere rubble. We do not consider them a resource. The early settlers equated all energy quanta with the elements of Earth's atomic periodic table, though these quanta will not function as such in an atomic environment. We have found that the quanta persist as 'solid matter', but resist all efforts at conversion for the generation of energy. Some of our 'special crystals' however, retain the ability to focus energy from other Q zones, and they may be a valuable trade commodity.

The equivalent of metals are a tricky proposition in our zone. Atomic metals become extremely soft in this zone and we warn those technology based cultures to be wary in our space. We can combine our elements to create cerametals which are extremely tough, lightweight, and heat resistant. As well we can form them in a malleable state before setting the crystalline structure.

We await work from the Starshield overlords before committing to resources we would include in our initial list, but the following spring readily to mind:

Water

Arable land

Flora of all types including edible plants, cash crops

Fauna of all types, both domestic and wild, benign and aggressive

Liquid energy pools (equate with oil)

Gems of all types, including "energy stones" (think in terms of coal through to radioactive ores)

The rocks and gems themselves can be used to construct all forms of machines and buildings, simply by manipulating the energy matrices that give them shape, and then letting the new shape "lock in".
