The Delsym Alliance wishes to announce to all Omnet civilisations that it has begun creating a merchant fleet of space faring vessels to enhance the trade prospects which have emerged following our contact with those civilisations in other parts of the galaxy.
In keeping with the terms of our local alliance, all our starships are fitted with the three types of drives which will allow us to move freely in each of our technological zones. Further, to facilitate the various types of drives and goods with which we trade, the ship design is modular. We seek to begin negotiating trade agreements with others. This open band transmission is intended for any and all friendly cultures who would wish to trade with the Delsym Alliance.
As a first step in any agreement we would wish to exchange space drive technologies. Any cultures wishing to trade with the Alliance should make us aware of their technology base and the type of space drives they currently employ. To date we are aware of ten technology bases which appear functional. We are personally conversant with three of them. We propose to construct merchant trading vessels for all Omnet civilisations. These will include space drives for all technologies with which we trade.
The basis of the agreement is this:
In return for 20 of your space drives and associated controls, safety devices etc., the Delsym Alliance will provide you with one merchant ship of heavy battleship size. These will carry minimal armament, though you can retrofit additional arms of your own to protect against pirates, collisions with space debris, etc. We will not provide weapons based on our own technology as part of this agreement, though separate negotiations can be made for them. Due to our unique modular design, the full storage capacity contracted for can be supplied, but please keep in mind that the supply of 20 drive of your type will only allow you cargo space of 250 standard volumes. The space drives needed for operation in the various Q-dexes. Are outside the cargo space. Provision will be made for 10 drives, because we expect that all technologies will be represented by Omnet members. In fact, the drive housing can, if needed, accommodate up to 21 drives (see design notes on the attached page).
Under the above arrangement, if we have seven new technological cultures trading with us, and we each supply a similar number from our own tech, we can make twenty merchant vessels. Thus ten cultures will have an all-types trading vessel (including our three), and the Delsym Alliance will have ten cargo vessels in stock. These can be sold to help recover the costs of our joint venture. We do not propose to monopolise the space trading fleets. We are assuming equivalent cost drives, but all contracts will be examined for fairness.
The unique drive housing of our modular design will allow traders and buyers of our vessels to fit their own special drives, if they have them, for traveling between zones. We look forward to opening negotiations with all civilisations, in the interests of intra-Galactic trade

Ship configuration.
A: Control Sphere. Bridge and crew quarters. Adaptable for all species. Computer systems, navigation equipment. Especially designed to protect life forms as much as currently possible from the effects of Q-dex shifts. All internal fittings for unique non-humanoid life forms must be provided for fitting in the Delsym production facilities. Subsequent, non-approved modifications will void warranty conditions
B: Cerametal grid designed to house 250 International Galactic Standard (IGS)sized containers of 1 standard volume each. The containers themselves are the responsibility of each culture. They may contain solids, liquids, gases, or any substances known to the party concerned. Using IGS sized containers makes shipping and handling far less time consuming and far less expensive. Audited figures for Delsym Alliance trade show 83.27% efficiency gains since standardising trade ship design across our cultures. [See the above trade ministries for IGS containers for Energy Flow, Elemental and Essence goods - where each already possesses manufacturing facilities and containers in stock ready for sale]
C: The Drive Housing. is cylindrical in shape, with three rings of drive connections circling the cylinder. Each ring is capable of holding seven drive devices. When attached to the IGS cerametal grid, which joins the drive cylinder to the control module, the cylinder appears to lie on its side, though space as we know, has no up or down. The active drive is always pointing to the rear, and can be fitted with deflector baffles to change course. When entering a different technology zone, the appropriate ring can be rotated to engage the required drive.
Maneuvering thrusters, or docking clamps, where relevant can also be fitted to the flat ends of the cylinder, and other parts of the vessel.
