STING'S SCIENCE-FICTION BASEMENT!

WELCOME!

Kris and I, November 2005

“There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.”

Well, almost a year has passed since my last entry here... and man what a year. On the unfortunate part... Finally got a handle on a long depression. I realized that I needed to get help and got it. Also my marriage is over. It was a long time in coming. We separated in April, and were never able to pull things back together. It also didn't help that I knew it was over, and began seeing other people. I was together with a lady for a few months, ended that, then met someone else, which I will cover in a minute... its good stuff. I was also laid off from my summer job at the end of June... but things changed.

Now for good news.... after I got laid off, I found another job at Teletech in Orillia. I worked there into the fall, when I got on to the Simcoe County Supply Teacher List! I have been working almost solid since the middle of November. I haven't found an LTO or permanent position yet, but at least I am working in my chosen field!

BUT... the BEST NEWS BY FAR! In November, I met a most extraordinary woman. her name is Kristina... and we hit it off almost right away. Its now almost three months later, and I honestly can't imagine my life without her. She is beautiful, intelligent, and witty. She is simply amazing. We spent Christmas and New Year's together... met her parents and grandmother... had the best holiday that I have had in years. And special plans are in the works for her on Valentine's Day... can't tell yet, as she checks the site from time to time... ;)

Well, 6 more weeks to the end of the Education program... thank-god! I cannot wait to be done school... except for the placements this year, the course work at Queen's has been BOOOORRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGGGGG.

BTW - Since I have gotten a few mails in the past little while:

Although some of you who visit this site have gotten the idea I am *THE* Sting (a.k.a. Gordon Sumner, former front-man for the Police and now a "solo" artist), I AM NOT THE SINGER Sting. I am very flattered that some of you think so, but I am just a humble university student. But feel free to drop me an email ANYTIME. Thanks!

Well, I'm entering my third week in Kingston, attending Queen's University's B.Ed program. Although, in some ways it hasn't sucked too badly, I REALLY want to go home now. The first couple of weeks have been BOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNNGGGGG. Although, I have tried to take in some sights here, like Fort Henry, which is really neat.

After 17 years, we are once again reminded that the exploration of space is far from safe and routine. The picture below is to honour the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia. May their spirit of exploration and discovery continue on and deepest sympathies to the families of those whose lives where lost.

Your friend, Sting a.k.a. Erik "The Truth is Out There."

Welcome to my Web Page. This site is dedicated to some of my favorite Sci-Fi TV programs, and my very special friends.

A little bit about me: I am from Ontario, Canada, and live near Longford Mills, Ontario. I am 25 years old and a graducate of Law & Security at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. Currently I am a student of the Concurrent education program at Trent Univserity. My future career goal is to become a teacher, but before that I wanted to be a police officer. My favorite singer is Sting (I bet you couldn't guess! *GRIN*). I love to read, use the computer, go biking, driving (my fave cars are Volkswagan's), going swimming, taking saunas, camping, & exercising.

My site also includes a page dedicated to the Amiga computer, IMHO, one of the best personal computers ever.
