What is the Association Doing?

Due to concerns raised at the general meeting, the Association will be gathering signatures to petition to Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to enforce fish hut licensing for winter fishing on Lake St. John.

The assoication will be conducting a membership drive in June, on both the north and south sides of the Lake.

Algae and weeds continue to be a problem on Lake St. John. During the membership drive, members will be circulating a petition regarding maintianing lake levels at spring levels during the summer to help control algae and weeds.

The association is also looking into other avenues of controlling algae and weed growth.

It is still possible to tour the Stepan Canada plant in Longford Mills. Those interested in a tour can contact Erik Miitel at (705) 689-3241. We will organize groups of about 7-10 to go at a time.
