I am Stephen Coy. I live in Southern California. I play the drums, and I love Star Wars, but my greatest love is cooking. I am a vegetarian in a meat-eating world, and that is one of the reasons why I took up cooking. The other reasons are Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, the Too Hot Tamales on the TV Food Network. The first time I saw their show they were making tripe stew, and for some reason that intrigued me. I have been watching ever since. I go to their restaurant, the Border Grill in Santa Monica often and I even get to work in the kitchen, whenever I want to! If you are ever in Santa Monica, you must go. Try the Pastel Rufina--it's to die for--although there are too many textures for my taste.
I just started watching the X-Files(well, actually, it was about 8 months ago), and that show is tight! Even though they never smile, except for that one guy Eddie Van Blundht, who was a shape-shifter. He had some kind of extra muscle so he could change his skin's shape, and then he changed himself into Mulder. Then he was coming on to Scully. He was at Scully's door and he smiled through the peephole, so then you knew that it was the shape-shifter, because they never smile. Except for when they got drunk, and then she smiled, but that's 'cause she had half a bottle of wine.
I hate stupid movies, so it's a good thing that they made the Star Wars Trilogy. My favorite kind of music is jazz. There are so many different styles that fall under that category, and I like almost all of them, especially latin. Most people think that jazz is boring, but if they listened to it, they would find that it is very fun to listen to. Which brings me to my next point. . .
Weak-minded people bother me too, because there are so many of them.
I hate stereotypes. They are the cause of many of our social troubles, and they stem from our planet's most malignant cancer. . .
If we could do away with all ignorance, we would live in a Utopian society. Those of you who say that ignorance is bliss, I ask you to examine how blissful your life is.
My cooking page has pictures of me with my cookware and knives, weekly (sort of)recipes of my own creation, produce tips, and hints for cooking delicious lower fat vegetarian meals. This week's recipe: Vegetarian Pot Pie.
Celebrity Slugfest is a really great page. It is a Shockwave game that pits you against celebrities such as Tori Spelling, Ted Kennedy and David Letterman in a fight to the finish. They even become progressively bloodier as you hit them. Coming soon: Kathie Lee Gifford!
This is the web site of my favorite restaurant, the Border Grill. It is well maintained and updated often with special events and recipes. There is also a copy of the menu , albeit outdated, for you to browse.
The TV Food Network web site is great. They have an area to suit your liking, be it culinary technique or biographies of all the TV Food Network chefs. They have recipes from every show, a store where you can order cookware, textiles, cookbooks, and spices, and, yes, you guessed it. . .much more. The CyberChef answers your questions daily, and you can find answers to past questions regarding almost all of your burning gastronomic querys, like "Why did my chocolate bunnies turn gray?"
If something is an art, there must be a science to it, and if something is a science, here must be an art to it.--Stephen Coy
