An end has come to the life of Red Alert. His chassis lives on under Nocturne, the mirror and gearshiftknop live on on Red Alert 2. And the cabin has been struck by the fury of a convertible nut. The charleston is in my garage and waiting to be dismantled. Things are looking pretty good. I will have to use the weldingmachine on several spots, but all things look bright.

Coming saturday i am going to pick up another 2CV; a charleston. This Charlie is going to be used to restore Red Alert. The cabin is going to be painted red and put on the chassis of red alert. I plan to exchange some inside material to, to keep the face of red alert. So Red Alert will be fully restored by the end of april.

I had some time during the holidays. My new job is going great and I enjoy it. I have to drive a lot with my 2CV or LNA, but i do it with a termendes amount of pleasure. Since i had time i decided to put Red Alert through the dutch MOT (APK). At first Red Alert was found not good enough. No rust this time. The wheelbearings were gone in the front.....the right was still ok and i didn't replace it. The left one was replaced together with the kingpin due to some problems. I also changed the brakecylinders at the back. Red Alert passed the MOT yesterday. There are far going plans on Red Alert. I plan to pick up a new cabin which i'm going to restore and repaint. This summer or fall should be the time Red Alert undergoes it's face lift because i have plans of changing the colour to. And with that also it's name. But! Red Alert will exist again in the future. I plan a true concept 2CV based on a convertible. A true Red Alert. I hope this car will run somewhere in the year 2001. Untill than we will see how we will go on!

It's been a while for an update on events. Red Alert is running perfectly, although the engine is loosing some oil. But in the last year i've driven over 50.000 km without problems and was able to help a lot of other 2CV's which did have problems. But as time goes by, so goes rust, so it is time for Red Alert to get a small facelift on dangerous places. For this event i bought a 1982 LNA 2 cylinder. I did this so i can put Red Alert in the garage and start working on it. And welding for that madder. Updates will follow!

Red Alert is running again. Together with the engine i bought, i bought the entire 2CV surrounding it. It's in pretty bad shape, but i'm going to use it for practise purposes and turn it into a convertible. Last sunday i drove backwards and didn't notice a pole standing there, never even saw it, though i was looking. So i dented my right back fender. The damage in general isn't big, but i had to change the fender. Which i did. I might get a hand of a picture that i will post on the internet. Luckily only my pride is damaged!

I am still working on Red Alert and his engine. The engine I picked up in Antwerpen has not been used in a long time, so the inside of the cylinders and the pistons are a bit rusted. Resulting in the fact that the engine won't run. I am now looking at several options and negociating on another engine. What I'm going to do with the engine from Antwerpen is not sure. My plans are to make it a 'fast' engine in the future.

Next to the Red Alert site, Red Alert is undergoing some drastic changes to. On my last trip to france one week ago it came clear the current engine is at it's end with 157.000 km. So I picked up a new engine from Antwerpen in Belgium. This engine came out of a white crashed 2CV made on 5 march 1986. This engine sustained some outside damage easy to repair. So now i'm working hard to get the engine ready for Red Alert. The same goes for two new bumpers that are going to be fit on Red Alert. The front bumper i picked up in France. I also fitted a new backfender. Picktures will soon follow.

On my trip to France my windshield got broken while driving on a back road. Most likely by a stone launged by a car coming from the other direction. We fitted Red Alert with a new windshield without much trouble.

Today one year ago I picked up Red Alert from his previous owner. And now one year later I can tell I drove almost exactly 22.000 km with Red Alert. To be exact 22245 km.

Plans for the worldmeeting in Greece have bin sidetracked by myself. Best chances are Red Alert is going to Spain this summer.

Red Alert has had his annual check up, which was a bit of a dissapointment. He had two week spots in his body that needed welding, which took a lot of time. Than to make the works complete Red Alert had to be fitted with three new wheel bearings. But now I can drive him again and did so last weekend. 550 km through the Netherlands. A man can have fun!!!!

The Visa is still standing at the same parkingspot i parked it weeks ago. Within two weeks the Visa is going to dissappear to the scrapyard. Too bad, but there is no other way.

I bought another car. It's a 1982 Citroen Visa II club. It isn't good, but I'm going to keep it for a number of months after with I'm going to sell some parts to get my expanses back. I'm going to call it Alerte Rouge. French for Red Alert. It's red and like my old white Visa it's going to get stripes: white ones. Pictures will soon follow and some stories of course!

Coming monday I will pick up a female cat. She is born on september the 21st. In the picture you can see her with her sister. Her name is going to be Jazz. Jazz is the little cat in the back, isn't she sweet? Jazz and her sister

Red Alert has bin on vacation to Slovenia. But before we went I changed the absorbers, fitted a Palmathing and replaced a fender. And I also fitted a new left mirror. "Leven in het verleden van de toekomst" is almost finished. This is the book on which I have worked for three years. First I will wait for reactions of friends and family that read the book.
