The Dark Demons

You feel that you know anger? Well, you don't. I know anger better than anyone, for I
have lived and danced in the shadow of evil. I will tell you about anger, for I know it well.
Anger is more than a simple feeling of hatred or disgust. Anger is a way of being.

Anger will take many forms and tempt you to obey her. At first, only simply annoying
actions or comments will bombard you, causing you to step back and hold your ground. This
constant barrage of stress will never cease unless you can walk away and ignore the attack.
Anger knows the determination of people to resist her power. Anger will continue her attack
until you break under the unbearable urges to react and destroy the cause of aggravation. Once
you react to the stress, you have fallen into the clutches of anger.

After anger has you in her clutches she will wait, because you are weak and anger can
strike at any time. Like a tick, anger will dig into you. Tearing at your flesh and thriving on
your blood, anger will wait. The wait may take days, weeks, months, or even years, but when it
is over, your trouble is just beginning. Anger will wait inside you carefully observing your every
emotion until it finds your weakness. Finding this weakness, anger will nurture that feeling, that
uneasy feeling of doubt and frustration, a secret that no one knows. Anger will care for this
feeling as her own child. This emotion will grow and fester in your mind, and like a splinter
lodged deep in the flesh puss over and become infected.

This infection will occur in your mind. Starting with the subconscious, this emotional
flaw will enter your mind and take control of you as a distraction. This will continue following
the same routine as the initial attack of stress that was the overall cause of your anguish. Only
this time, you can not run; you can not hide from this emotion because it is inside you. After this
psychological attack occurs day after day, a new feeling will take hold of you and control you, --
hate.

Hate is the brother of anger, and he is more powerful. Hate lives in the subconscious,
controlling your idle mind. Whenever you are not busy at work, while sleeping, or at rest, hate is
in command. Visions of your weakness keep appearing in your mind. Every time the vision is
replayed you grow more tired of it. Soon you grow so upset over what you see or feel that you
must act. You must end this living nightmare.

Once you reach this point you will follow one of two paths. Those that are strong at heart
will resist the temptation of hate and will win the battle, but few are able to do this. Even those
who were strong are by now so psychologically and emotionally devastated that they can no
longer think and act with reason. Those that are too week to resist and ward off the lure of hate
are now controlled by vengeance.

Vengeance is the worst of these dark demons. Anger is invited by the weakness in
ourselves. Hate rules due to our distrust of others and dissatisfaction with our lives. Vengeance
is the worst because we bring him upon ourself. Only when we decide that the sweet taste of
revenge is better than the honorable way of forgiveness will vengeance take the helm. Under the
guidance of vengeance you will eventually spend every waking minute and most of your time in
the subconscious dream world plotting and planning the destruction of your cause of stress and
anger. Once your plan is set and you can no longer stand hate you act out your plan. However,
by this point, you are no longer in control. You are just an empty shell, a puppet in the evil play
of revenge, a play in which you cast the characters, you wrote the script, and a play in which
anger, hate, and vengeance are the puppeteers.

After you have carried out your gruesome task, you have lost. Never again will you
control your life. You are as good as dead because anger controls your life now. You are a slave
to anger and you will obey her every command. Like the vampires of old, anger, hate,
and vengeance will feed off you as long as they can. This dreaded cycle will continue until
you ultimately destroy yourself. I tell you in truth there are many of you who do not believe what I
tell you, but I am telling you as someone who was there. I have hosted anger at my table,
welcomed hate, and plotted with vengeance. I was all ready to carry out my plan and destroy
those who opposed me, and only then did I see what I had become. I was no longer the person
that I once knew. I was a monster who thrived on the sweet taste of revenge. I soon learned that
the taste of freedom is better than that of revenge. I turned away from anger, but I am not free
yet. Some day I will turn completely and be free, but it takes time and the help of others. Anger
is the Queen of Evil, the ruler of hate, and vengeance. She is a dark mistress, and the darker side
of the human race.
