Nasties History
The McNasties
In the year 543, in the lands of Edreja, a Caledonian clan split to form two clans. One of which were the McNasties. The clan McNasty was renown for their skills in smithing and metallurgy, and for their stout warriors.
It was in the year 564 that the McNasties looted an ancient temple of the ancestors. This did not make them very popular amongst the other clans. Most of the clan fled from Caledonia to Teutonia to escape their impending doom, and with the money looted from the temple they set up a village.
After surviving several years of constant assassination attempts the clan changed its name to the Reds.
The Reds (Nasties)
The Reds quickly established a stable village under the name of Gladstone and within 50 years two outposts, Yvel and Bardel, were set up. The outposts leered over a vast valley prosperous with minerals.
Meanwhile, matters were different at the World Edge Mountains. The Orcish Foul Mouth tribe had been separated from their main army during a battle against Smergith, an ancient and powerful dragon. The tribe separated, half fled to the mountains whilst the other half hurried to Gladstone. Those that reached the mountains were regrouped with their siblings, safe within the gloomy caverns. Those that reached Gladstone were welcomed cautiously and within the century a neighbouring village to Gladstone was established, Gor Grod Razza.
The Lord High Abuser, Lugwort Rotter, sent a small regiment of his finest Orcs to Gladstone to warn them of their oncoming threat; Smergith was brewing trouble along the human colonies leading toward Gladstone and the heart of Teutonia. The warning gave the Reds time to engineer a war machine suitable for the slaying of Smergith. As he flew over the outpost of Yvel, a huge bolt was fired from the war machine and guided toward the dragon by a Goblin Doom Diver (or bat-winged loony as they are more commonly called). The dragon’s throat was pierced and he plummeted to the ground crashing into the rocks around the valley. The threat was now gone and a strong trust was built between the people of Gladstone and Gor Grod Razza. Forges were built and the neighbourhood watch was established, consisting of humans, dwarves, Orcs and ogres, appropriately named the ‘Nasties’.
When news came of a rebellion against Kreuger, Gorfang Rotgut, the Lord High Abuser of the Orcish Foul Mouth tribe, sent Admiral Niblit Stoat Throttler, his political advisor and naval officer, to Gladstone to organise matters with the Orcs. He pledged his allegiance to Neo Nasty Nutcracker, leader of the Reds and the surrounding villages. The Nasties then joined the Vipers and conquered Teutonia, Gustav inherited his kingship, and Niblit remained at Gladstone to improve racial relations.
Kreuger’s men however, were still rampaging the wilderness. A large group of the unliving stumbled across the valley and singled out Gladstone, the village was destroyed during the conflict but the unliving were eventually dismissed. Gor Grod Razza became and multi-racial village for over half a century as Gladstone was reconstructed.
The Cult Redemption
The Nasties in all of its incarnations have worshipped Redemption. The creator is unhappy with its works and will begin Genesis once all is destroyed. Evidence of this was found at the Gathering 1096 when Nibilt was sucked into the Warp, the plane of the gods. There he found that the Ancestors and the gods were slowly being destroyed. This has brought the idea of Redemption home. They now believe that they must prepare for the time when the Gathering Treaty will collapse and the Great War will return. They are now a franchise of the Temple of Quendi.
They call us strange, we call ourselves Outcasts.
They mock us, we take the sharp words, and they cut us on the arm.
They insult us, we feel the blunt words strike us upon the head.
They wonder why we are what we are, we know.
They wonder why we seem insane, we know.
We are their enemy, they ours.
To those who wonder, I will tell, we are the future.
It is said that only those who prosper can judge what is sane.
But I tell you, only the insane have the strength enough to prosper.
And those who prosper can truly judge what is sane.
We are the future, the reality.
There are those who say trust in the Lord, I say follow his footsteps.
There are those who say have faith, I say beware the false prophets.
There are those who say the Lord shall forgive all, I pray so.
There are those who say that judgement day is coming, I say it is here.
There are those who say the end of the world is nigh, I say it dawns.
That which I write I hope brings knowledge.
Power is knowledge, knowledge is power.
Wealth is happiness, happiness is wealth.
Where there is smoke, there is fire.
Remember the tide of darkness rises, for it shall consume us all.
And our civilisation will end in chaos and fire.
