The Song of King Arthur, Merlin, Lancelot, and Guinevere

Through these four,
all the Earth was changed.
Through these four
legends still remain.

King Arthur was a man of nobility and grace.
Through the centuries he is reminisced.
He gave to those who opposed,
what was theirs.
He gave to his land,
all that he had.
For of grace and charm he was,
Did he always trust in Merlin.
Though the once he did not,
proved to be his downfall.
Because of his wife’s betrayal,
was he sent to Avalon.
There he will be healed,
and from there again he will come back.

Through these four,
all the Earth was changed.
Through these four,
legends still remain.

Merlin was an old magician
sent upon a quest.
To bring to being the greatest king,
ever to rule the greatest island.
Through over a hundred years,
was his preparation including.
Through over a hundred years,
was his life.
After bringing the king to being,
did he for once meet his slayer,
whom had visited him in his dreams,
since the first of his days.
For his heart was stronger than the will that ruled him.
And through his heart,
he was entrapped in a trap of his own making.

Through these four,
all the Earth was changed.
Through these four,
legends still remain.

Sir Lancelot was a knight true of deed,
though true of heart was he not.
He loved his king as only a knight could,
though he loved his queen more than a knight should.
Through his great deeds was he known,
and through his worst deeds was he shown.
That to love one who is of another,
is to bring peril and distraught to all who is under.
But in the end he did see,
and in his untrue heart he did repent,
the distraught and peril cast unto thee.
For seeing the one he loved next to the one who belonged,
did he finally understand that to love one’s other is to be wronged.
And because in the end his blind eyes did see,
that his untrue heart was set free.

Through these four,
all the Earth was changed.
Through these four,
legends still remain.

Guinevere was the queen of the land.
And Guinevere’s heart did take a brutal hand.
Because of its split did it cause to die,
all the noble knights which were on her side.
And to the one whom she did belong,
through her heart she did him wrong.
Because of her love to her dear knight,
the greatest island was urged to fight.
Two sides in combat,
through death did they fight.
And then dead all the people lay,
dead from their plight.
For the heart of Guinevere was owned by two,
caused the death of all that the kingdom knew.
