Before we do this, do you want to get lost
in the dark?
The previous link is to a prime example of web-art, which
combines the latest technologies of the internet (html, shockwave, etc.) as the
canvas for interpretive, word based art accessible to anyone with a computer and
a phone line. There are many other sites on the internet that combine these
technologies and creative thinking that "hyper-artists" use to express
themselves to the world. Essentially, people utilize the net to express anything
in any sort of combinations with new technology, from picture editing to
impressionistic images and sites to present their views, beliefs, and ideals to
the global community.
Not only do people use websites to express themselves on the world wide web,
but they also employ MUDs, online art galleries, literary pages, and various
other forms of the media to present themselves. Whenever they get a chance,
people try to create an identity for themselves. Sometimes they try to create a
completely original identity by making a character up, but most of the time
people just present themselves "as is" in hopes to network and
identify with other people.
Perhaps, before we continue, you would like to see my self-expression on the
internet, yes?
Or maybe you would like to express yourself? Geocities offers
plenty of web space, all you have to do is sign up with them. It's free!
Better yet, maybe you just want to email me. I can be found
many places, but for you, I'll tell you how to reach me faster than you could
say Snuffleupagus.
