    Mulder's interest in the paranormal comes from his sister's apparent abduction when he was twelve. He is a firm believer in the existance of extraterrestrials and believes that certain people withing the American government are secretly working with them. He also believes that his father was involved in this and maybe even in his sister's abduction.
