The ATAC is the armored fist of the PKF. They are the heavy combat units that punch through the enemy and drive into the enemies rear areas reducing all resistance to wreckage. Fast, lethal, and heavily armored, the Veritech Hover Tank is the weapon of choice for the ATAC. The ATAC is also assigned many other armored vehicles, but the VHT is only used by the ATAC.
As a prerequisite, ATAC soldiers need to have an INT of at least 2

The GMP is the most feared instrument of the United Nations. It has the
power to investigate anything and ruin anyone. The GMP is the Peace Keeping
Force's (PKF) equivalent of the Rapid Deployment Force's (RDF) Section 6.
When the SDF-1 was being refitted under the guidance of the UN and the the new
technologies were being experimented upon, there was an incredible danger of
the fledgeling RDF being the target for terrorists, fanatics, and extortionists
of all stripes. The RDF, being primarily created as a military organization
had a traditional dislike for the "spooks". It was soon decided that
tactical intelligence would be an organic function of the RDF, but counter-
intelligence and strategic level intelligence would be conducted by an outside
party, reminescent of the relationship the US DoD and Intelligence community
share.
The origins of Section 6 are convoluted at best. It now seems that the old UNACO (United Nations Organized Crime Organization) was simply expanded by bringing in experts on more military matters, as Section 6 still has inordinate powers of arrest and investigation in civil, criminal, and military investigations and operations.
The mission of the newly formed Section 6 quickly expanded to include political destabilization, assassination, loyalty checks, sabotage, and "retirements". When the RDF was renamed the REF, Section 6 was quietly split as well into the new REF Military Intelligence Corps and the PKF's Global Military Police. The REF MIC is split into "White", "Grey" and "Black" teams. The White teams are used for straight tactical military intelligence operations. Grey teams are used for criminal investigations and counter intelligence operations, while black teams are used for anything else including the less savory operations such as assassination and retirement.
The GMP has no such distinctions. All of their operatives are used for all types of operations. The GMP enforces the UN's law with an iron fist and their is no one country which can fight them on equal footing, as the GMP has the authority to mobilize PKF units for combat operations WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL! The GMP is authorized to conduct combat operations "for the greater good of the UN, the Earth, or it's citizens for up to 24 hours without approval of the UN Security Council."

The Sea Squad is the second largest of the PKF branches. It is responsible for all operations pertaining to the seas, oceans, rivers and lakes of the world. They control all of the ships of the PKF and are considered the "navy" of the UN. The aircraft and pilots on their aircraft carriers are from the TAF, while the ships troops are from the TC. There is no room in the UN military for interservice rivalries, as they are beset by both human and alien enemies on all sides. The SS does have some frogmen, and as such are considered to be in the same class as the US Navy's SEALs (a perennial favorite to "recruit" personnel from).

The Tactical Air Force is designed to operate solely in the atmosphere. The decision to slit the Air Force into two arms was made due to the experience of the First Robotech War where there were too many missions and too few pilots and the differing training involved in space and atmospheric combat. By splitting the Air Force, each theater (ground or space) would have dedicated air support and never again be told that the requested assets were predisposed in space ten thousand klicks away while the ground forces were being chewed up by a strong assault.
These pilots are taught all aspects of aerial warfare and become fearsome opponents inside of an atmosphere. Because of this training, they recieve a special bonus of +1 to dodge when using any aerial vehicle (jet, jet pack, helicopter, etc.) in an atmosphere.

The UN Tactical Corps is responsible for ground combat. They are a non specialized corps when compared to many of the others, but their span of skills and capabilities is greater than any other branch in either the PKF or the ASC. They are the Jacks of all Trades in the UN military structure, and as such they are masters of none. Despite this, this corps of dedicated warriors sees more combat than any other branch, and this experience breeds hard men and women who will fight to the death to defend the Earth against any threat.
The Tactical Corps is designed to fight large battles of battalion size or more. When that amount of firepower is not required, the mission is usually tasked to one of the TC "baby armies" as they are known. These baby armies are specialized units within the TC that handles missions requiring a "special" touch. The TC has 7 such sub-branches currently:

The CDU is the most visible force in the world circa 2030. As such they have a very tough job indeed. They interact with civil and other military authorities on a daily basis, helping in ivestigations, quelling riots, stopping anti UN plots, capturing suspects too heavily armed for civil authorities and gathering info for the UN. This branch walks a very fine line indeed, trying to keep the peace between a weary and angry populous and a tyrannical and monolithic government whom they serve. The CDU has the highest rate of suicide and dessertion among any of the 15 branches in the UN PKF.
This army and it's brother the Civil Defense Flying Corps is the bright shiny visage of Big Brother and their Newer World Order.
As a prerequisite, high MAN is preferred as well as loyalty to the UN over all other commitments.
