Version 5: Poetry

"Cry"

I stare at the spin of the glowing circle
You said this wouldn't hurt, I said this wouldn't hurt.
The bright white in dark captivates my gaze
And I reach my hand of wispy blue
A slowing fading mist of hope
Being swirled by the spinning of the circle of white.

I stare at the picture
You said you wouldn't cry, I said I wouldn't cry
I hold your smile in my hand
And I reach up, translucent blue on paper
And you begin to fade from me
Your memories slowly dying inside mine

I stare into years past
You thought about that lie, I thought about that lie
I can see myself again, stop it
Stop this lie from ever forming
End this misery, end this pain, end it all
Tears run down from the crouched corners

I said this wouldn't hurt, yet it did.
I said I wouldn't cry, yet tears flow free.
I believed that lie, and now I look
At the circle of spinning white.

You said this wouldn't hurt, and you rejoice.
You said you wouldn't cry, no marks on your cheeks.
You belived my lie, and you ran from me, and you
Go into the circle of spinning white.

Go, spread your wings and fly far
Leave me to my prison
Fly away and never look back
However...

One day, you shall cry.
