BIOGRAPHIES PAGE HOSED!
I was creating a new page for this site and the Geocities Advanced HTML editor overwrote the Character Biographies page. I hope to be able to re-create it soon.
PAGE 4 OF THE MULHARE KOMBAT COMIC BOOK RECEIVED
Rob Marsh sent me page 4 of the comic a few weeks ago, but I haven't had the chance yet to resize it and upload it. It should be posted within a week.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year. It looks like I won't be getting the DirectX 7 beta until February, so there's not much work I can do on the game until then. I plan to revise the AI system and do some more artwork for the characters (which is a large chunk of what needs to be done anyway).

I've added some more links below. Check 'em out!

MULHARE KOMBAT TO UTILIZE DIRECTX 7
Well, December 1st came and went and I still don't have the demo ready. I had some problems with my ISP and a size limitation on e-mail attachments: I've done most of the work so far on my PC at work on my lunch hour, and then would send a zip file to my home e-mail address. Even though the zip file would be under the e-mail attachment size limit, I would frequently have the e-mail bounced back to me at work with an error stating that my mailbox was full. This set me back a bit, but it may have been a blessing in disguise: I've just signed up to beta test DirectX 7, and by utilizing the functions it contains I should be able to produce a much better game. I received my non-disclosure statement in the mail today (they also give you the option of having them fax it to you, but in my particular building at work there are a lot of people, and since I didn't know exactly when they would fax it, I opted for snail mail.) I'm going to fax it back to them on Monday and hopefully I'll receive a CD from them soon afterwards. Of course I won't be able to release the demo (or the full game for that matter) until after Microsoft releases its fully-tested version of DirectX 7. But on the bright side, this will give me more time to work on the demo and I may even be able to include more in it than I had planned.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE MODE FEATURES 90% COMPLETE
I've added the code for crouching and jumping in practice mode, now it just needs to be polished up and from there I'll begin setting up the Tournament Mode and enemy A.I.
PAGE 3 OF THE MULHARE KOMBAT COMIC BOOK ADDED
Rob sent me page 3 of the comic today. It can be viewed in the comic area.

BASIC PRACTICE MODE CODING COMPLETE
There are a few faults in the character mask that I need to fix, but besides that, Practice Mode is up and running, in a basic form. I still need to add mappings for jumping and crouching, and the assorted punches and kicks that go along with them, and I also need to figure out why the API function that resets the keyboard delay rate won't work right for me.
The demo, featuring the Practice Mode and the first matchup of Tournament Mode, will be ready DECEMBER 1ST. Estimated system requirements are: Pentium processor, 16 megs of RAM, and 20MB available HD space.

Cinescape Online
The website of a great sci-fi magazine, despite the fact that Mark Altman is now a contributor.
John Lemasney's Website
John is a friend of mine, and an artist in every sense of the word. He expresses himself in just about every medium available (and what I like about his work is that it really is EXPRESSION, not just art for the sake of art.) In his professional life, John works as a computer guru at Rider University. Check out his site to see some of his artwork!
Dave's Classics
Arcade emulators and ROMS.
Galactic Cowboys Official Homepage
These guys are great -- heavy metal with stunning harmonies mixed in. Their subject matter ranges from the serious to the not-so-serious. And their website is very well done too, check it out.
Brian's Homepage
Brian is a friend of mine, though I don't get to see him much nowadays because we're both married/engaged and we both have a kid. He's a real down-to-earth type guy, plays drums, and is going to school for computers. Brian is engaged to Connie, and they have a beautiful 2 year old daughter, Connor.
Connie's World
Connie is Brian's fiancee. I don't really know her, but I used to be the janitor at her high school before I became a programmer (small world). Connie is a stay-at-home mom (which is what my wife would like to be, but we have too many bills right now), which I think is cool. I get bummed out every day when I drop my son off at daycare.
