 A Typical Workday

What do I do in a typical workday (Monday to Friday)? Well, its pretty standard what I do every workday since there is not much variation I can put in. So here folllows a pictorial description of Leon's daily worklife in Milpitas California.

 

Well, I wake up around 7.15 to 7.30 in the morning. Usually woken up by the alarm clock. (Its so nice to continue sleeping since its cold (just like during rain in MY)). Outside is still quite dark. (The picture is not correct since the camera have light compensation so it looks brighter).

After washing up, I prepare breakfast. It usually consist only of a hot cup of Milo and an apple I get from the Front Desk (its free). Once I munch down the apple, I be heading to my car at around 800am.

The training center is roughly 3-5 Km away so it roughly takes 5-10 minutes to arrive to the office. Traffic is pretty easy (as you can see, there is not many cars around).

This is the training center. Very nice and cozy place. Classes start at 830 SHARP. Most of the people are already in at 815 (so unlike Malaysian Culture). Classes will last until 445pm. Its surprising to learn that 1/3 of US Varian employess are ex-military personel. I dunno why, but that is just it. So during lunch, I be just sitting there while they talk about Aegis system, that missle, this cruiser, Saudi, radar this radar that. etc.

This is a picture of the main entrance to Varian( Door to the left). Didn't take any pictures inside, since I look like some spy snapping pictures inside the facility. Even if I do, I dun think I want to share them.. Company secrets:D. They take it very seriously here in the US.

THIS is what I study. Didn't expect it to be so damn tough. Really really head wrecking. Dunno how I can stand it. The other guys are much more experienced and they always ask question. I sometimes dun even understand what they are talking about. You see a diagram of the Accelarator Guide and the Bending Magnets. The block diagram shows how the power units control the guide. Blah blah blah....

More stuff. This is the physics part of the course. All the E=MC2 and the Ke=mv2 stuff. Getting a headache already looking at it.

Once classes finish, I either head home (if I already have dinner prepared) or I go and buy dinner. This piece of chocolate chip cookie, i picked up from the Front Desk (Free again). I eat the cookie, go online then prepare dinner at around 6-7 pm. Dinner is either bought from around here or Market Ranch.

Well, the rest of the day, I eat dinner, study, bath and watch TV. Every day they have Star Trek Voyager so I just watch and watch. I sleep around 1200am.:) So ends a day in a typical worklife. Boring eh? Well, what to do if I am too tired to do anything else after all that study.
