Recipe : Roasted Snout of Alf

Science Fiction Cookbook 2002 edition

Ingredients :
  • 1 Alf skinned and dehaired.
  • 2 cans of sliced pineapples, drained
  • 2 maraschino cherries
  • several sprigs of fresh parsley
  • Sweet and Sour Sauce (or favourite marinade sauce).

How to Catch an Alf

Pre-Prep :
Construct several simple traps in the vicinity of the Tanner Family household. Bait each trap with up to three sedated cats. Wait several minutes for Alf to realise there is a helpless cat in the area. Recorded vocalizations may or may not be necessary to lure him out.

Preparation :
Wash (with soap!), dehair and skin Alf.
With a large sharp knife slice the snout just below the eyes around to jawline.
Preheat oven to 350,400 degrees F.
Place sliced snout in a large roasting pan, marinate in sweet and sour sauce as desired. Place snout in oven for apprximately 30 minutes or until tender. Spoon sauce over snout several times during the cooking cycle. Remove from oven, drain and let cool. Arrange sliced pineapples about snout in an artistic fashion. Remove stems from cherries and place one in each nostril. Top with parsley and serve.

Yield : about 2 servings
