Gettin busy gigging, creating and promoting events, C:1 cuts it with Ghettotech, Electro, HipHop, Hip-House, Minimal House, Minimal-tech, High-tech Funk, DnB and old and new styles of Jungle. She has been out there capturing the visuals, morphing through psudonyms, experimenting with media and playing beats since september 1996.
She made a name for herself in the brisbane dj circut performing solo as th0r and djcam [now simplified to C:1] and with dj Valli Lee on 4 turntables as Mix N Fx while also running a weekly event at Mantra tagged Freshcut. The event was unique for Brisbane at the time as it hosted different genres of electronic music in the one event without it becoming the atmosphere of a rave. When not busy rockin the boat or gettin down to the funk, C:1 has helped promote and spread the word for Rudebwoys since it's inception. It was an original idea to celebrate local drum n bass soldiers once a month in brisbane with an old-school jungle vibe. Cam's Rudebwoys views are here. Reprazenting the female Jungle vibe of Brisbane is an all girl event known as Junglettes which cam is a member of. It is an independent all-girl line up event run by head basshead, Kim De La Haye and has also celebrated a fanstastic 3 years on November 3. In 2007 the journey continues on for C:1 as Techno and Ghetto resident, at MoreBass in Melbourne.... |
