Call of Cthulhu!

This way to Runequest page

Thank you for visiting this particular subterranean bolt hole for the creatively deranged. Nasht and Kaman Tha welcome you as Virtual Dreamer No: since Dec 24th 1997

Here's my first venture into written shareware (as in text, not programmes) for Cthulhu by Gaslight which is my current role-playing focus

An expanded section on vampire society and statistics

A slightly less detailed bundle of stuff on werewolves

Ideas on playing slightly more than human characters, has some parrallels to an existing system, I am told, but I haven't read this. I based all my ideas on my experiences ten years ago with the New Age, reincarnation, Atlantis, and on the ideas of the Great Ones and Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses who often disguised themselves as humans.

The use of golems in Gaslight

The use of elementals in Gaslight

Here are a few printable resources I've found:

First, from Harrigan's PBEM, maps of the Miskatonic University Library:

The Basement
The First Floor
The Second Floor
The Third Floor
The Outskirts of Arkham Itself

And here's some rather deranged and unpublishable ramblings I wrote for no other reason than I enjoyed it:

  1. Actually, firstly here is the write up of the 1997 Gaslight campaign. !!! NEW !!! - Last part finally typed up and put on site on 26th Dec 1999 (just in time for the millenium)  :)
  2. And here is my first ever deranged Mythos (rpg tie-in), story.
  3. A not specifically mythos related story, my attempt to be gothic.
  4. A write up of my first Cthulhu adventure as a player in a campaign. This is the best one of my stories, if I can presume to use that word, remotely standing on its own as a good read (presuming an interest in Cthulhu or Horror role-playing.)
  5. Another weird 20s Cthulhu adventure written up as a story, mostly actually detailing events that occurred outside the scope of the campaign. To save immense time and energy I uploaded this story in three chunks and I can't edit them in any way, so you have to access all three parts from right here. Its called "In Search of the Unknowable", and comes in Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.
  6. A most odd short story about how a stereotypical Cthulhu character might fall in love with someone.
  7. Another section of my campaign, kind of a Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead 'fill in' of what happened for one character who was separated from the party during part of the Dreamlands "Grand Finale". At last, the full version!
  8. Our loveable gun-toting gumshoe meets someone odd from the cemetary, and an old friend makes a useful guest appearance!

I received a copy of a copy of a mail from Peter (aka Daniel Tremorne) which was so funny I thought I'd print it here. Its a revised manifesto of standards of behaviour for an evil overlord that has got his (or her) shit together. If anyone knows who wrote it I'd be glad to credit them.

I think I'll even start a list of rpg links

1) There's a guy who has linked Paranoia and Cthulhu, check out his site!

2) And I may as well let Edward describe his site in his own words:
"This web site is for all readers, writers, artists, composers, editors, and publishers -- anyone with an interest in H.P. Lovecraft's creation, the Cthulhu Mythos. Admittedly, this is not Lovecraft's name for the background lore within his stories, but it is the name most commonly recognized as describing the type of stories we are interested in reading or writing."

3) The Lair of the Mythku (Mythos Haiku Poetry)

This site has been put on hold since Dec 97, whilst the RuneQuest page explodes. However there are some useful things here, so take the time to cruise around.
