Despite the fact that it was 78 degrees in Austin this afternoon, one third of Samantha's class at school was out sick today. Samantha told me that in one of the Kindergarten classes, there were 12 absent yesterday (out of 25 students). At our Brownie troop meeting today, only 11 of the 18 girls was there; the rest were home sick. There has been several stories in the local news about school districts around here closing down because so many of the students were out sick with "flu-like" symptoms.
All four of us are still healthy. I told Samantha to wash her hands OFTEN while she was at school today. Brett, did you get a flu shot this year? It's not too late! Start drinking lots of orange juice! Get caught up on your sleep! Maybe this will be the year when you don't get sick from all your nieces and nephew during the holidays!!!
