The UTS War, as it is called by the Fab'Rini, was an event building for a long period of time. After the execution of two Vestis Inquisitas teams, the Fab'Rini government on Manu began to seek diplomatic contact with the UTS. Every mission and plea was met with a snub from Admiral Umax.
President Veyt demanded that the executions be stopped and that the fanatical practice of executing outsiders be abolished. Admiral Umax once again refused. He began construction on a battle station. President Veyt made a public threat of strikes on UTS territory.
Once the station was complete, Admiral Umax positioned it on major shipping lanes between the Four Brothers and the Three Sisters, the two main "clusters" of life-supporting stars. The station destroyed 3 large convoys of unmanned automated cargo pods that were carrying building materials from the Fab'Rini colony in the Archaen Empire to the capitol on Manu.
The President sent an earnest plea to remove the battle station. The Union of True Sentients refused. The President ordered it removed by force.
Fully 10 days after the attacks, the Fab'Rini military began assaults on the station. Several ships and innumerable one-man fighters were lost. However, once the station's defensive and offensive weapons were rendered inoperative, robotic troops and drop troops were able to successfully storm the station and wrestle it under control. The station was moved to a large space dock for repairs.
After the removal of the station, the UTS sent out several hundred medium sized vessels. These successfully ran the blockade that the President had imposed and made it outside Fab'Rini boundaries. President Veyt addressed the Greater Galaxy and alerted them to the possibility of terrorist strikes.
One such strike occured in a farming settlement in the Fab'Rini Federation. A town of 3000 people was blasted from orbit by one of these ships, and drop troops successfully killed about 2700 inhabitants. The remaining 300, mainly women and children, were taken captive. The ship left before military craft could arrive to defend the colony.
Meanwhile, events proceeded apace . . . .
