The Ghost of Pulau Ubin
By Eng Kian of SingaporeHave you ever heard of TRUE ghosts stories happening in Pulau Ubin?? Well below is a true story told by my friend's brother (Yang) who used to be in Ncc.
Yang was having a 3-day inter-school camp at Pulau Ubin.
Every night, the cadets would take turns to do sentry duty outside the perimeter of the campsite. The cadet on duty would have to walk around the campsite all alone. As Pulau Ubin is infamous for its ghost stories, thus doing sentry duty alone can be a real challenge especially to the weak hearted ones.
Yang had heard of the ghosts in Pulau Ubin and he wasn't looking forward to his turn at all. However, he had no choice and when the time came, he boldly walked out of the campsite and started patrolling. To hide his fears, he whistled while he walked.
At one of the corners, he saw a red figure floated past him. He was petrified at the sight but he tried to convince himself it was only a joke played on him by the officers. So, he continued walking until he reached the ending point.
Yang couldn't get the sight off his mind. So, he asked the officer, "Sir, I saw a red figure float past me just now. Please tell me it was you trying to scare me."
"What are you talking about? We don't play this kind of sick joke around here," the officer replied. "Did you really see a red 'thing' floating past?"
"Yyyyyyyeeeesss, I am afraid so, Sir!" Yang trembled as he spoke. The officer told Yang to return back to his tent while he quickly rushed off to the main tent where the officers-in-charge were. A few minutes later, the officers called for an assembly and everyone was told not to loiter around the campsite and all sentry duties had been cancelled.
The next morning, when they broke camp, they had a debrief. The officers told them that what Yang saw was a ghost commonly spotted around the campsite. Yang was scared out of his wits and he became stiff and speechless.

Night of the Living Dead
By MysticboyIt was the end of a day's work in the rice fields of Laos, and my family had gathered a bundle of rice harvest for the morrow's job. The dried rice plants were bundled, forming a large hill the size of a small cabin, ready to be displaced of the rice the next day. My mother assigned my cousin and I to watch over it while she went home to get the older folks to come and replace us. My 5-year-old baby brother was also stuck with us. Well, the sun was setting now and it was getting dark, but no one showed up.
Nightfall soon came and we were scared. Behind our backs, we could hear the crying of the dead because we were only a few metres away from a graveyard. Cries of infant dying and dead children playing could be heard. The voices came closer and closer, but we could see nothing. We got scared, and hid at the bottom of the rice stack. Above, we could feel and hear the children shouting, having fun, and jumping up and down like crazy on top of us. Sweating through our shirts, we tried to remain quiet because we didn't want to attract their attention.
I started to dig my way out slowly to take a peek at the invisible figures and my brother followed, holding onto me tightly all this while. It is said in our culture that a child, before he or she loses their first tooth, can see ghosts because their eyes are keener. So, while I peeked out to see nothing, my brother cried. I suspected he had probably seen what I couldn't see. Suddenly the uttering voices, and stomping on top of us disappeared. Everything came to a silent still.
Our house was only a mile away, so we decided to go home instead of waiting for the elders to return. It was one of the scariest nights of my life, and with our small flashlight, we made our way home through the pitch-dark trails.

Unwanted Company
By WirisThis story happened to my boss recently. He claims that he is highly sensitive to supernatural presence around him. Although he has a driver, he prefers to drive himself when going on trips out of town.
During one such trip, he was driving home late at night. He was feeling tired after a day's work and was looking forward to reaching home soon. As he driving through a quiet road, surrounded by rubber estates on both sides, he had this feeling that he was driving through a "keras" area, or a haunted area. Apparently, there are many stretches of road in Malaysia that are so-called keras due to all sorts of reasons - accidents, proximity to cemeteries, ex-graveyard of the native tribes etc.
Suddenly, he felt a presence behind him and looking into the rear-view mirror, he saw that he had female company in the backseat of his BMW. A distraught looking, non-human female companion. Being used to seeing ghosts, my boss said he just ignored her and kept on driving until he felt that the presence was no longer there.
