Trump Tricks

The ability to create Trumps is not required. Trump Tricks are learned by careful study of how to use Trump, and do not require any facility at making them.

Cost: 15
Story Prerequisite: Study and use of Trumps.
Mechanics Prerequisite: None.

Trump Critique

This power enables a character to become familiar with the style and magical 'mark' of a range of Trump artists.

Unless purposefully obscured the character should be able to recognise a new Trump as either the work of one of several familiar artists or of an unknown. If the work of an unknown artist is encountered, any subsequent Trumps rendered by the same person would be known to the character as the work of this particular 'unknown' artist.

Trump Defence

Evoking a Trump defence involves a Trump card (your own works best), and concentrating on the cool sensation.

So long as the concentration is maintained, the trump will protect the character against the intrusions of Pattern, Logrus, Psyche, and most Magic.

Maintaining a Trump defence relies on the character's Endurance. Against Major Powers, maintaining a Trump defence is just as difficult as a mind to mind battle.

Trump Caller Identification

This power allows the character to tell the identity of a caller, without opening to the contact. Upon receiving a Trump Contact check through your Trump Deck.

The card of whoever is making the call will be psychically active (though if another Trump conversation is taking place, this will only narrow down the possibilities).

Obviously, this only works if the character happens to have a Trump of the caller.
