EDUCATION:
· B.S., Occupational Therapy, August 1995- December 1998; Mount
Mary College, Milwaukee, WI. Final fieldwork experience to be completed
by August 30, 1999.
· Expect to take the OTR certification exam in March, 2000.
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS:
· June- August 1998, Level II Feildwork (3.5 days/week); Special
Children’s
Center, Hudson, WI. Exposure to outpatient pediatric treatment, with focus
on
Sensory Integrative techniques; 0-3 program treatment, hydrotherapy. Diagnoses
worked with: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy Developmental
Delay,
Down’s Syndrome, Congenital Hip Dislocation.
· April-mid June 1999, Level II Fieldwork, (full time); Two Rivers
Community
Hospital, Two Rivers, WI. Primary treatment population: Pediatrics, with
outpatient and 0-3 program treatment, with focus on Sensory Integrative
and
NDT techniques. Diagnoses: Autism Spectrum disorder, Spinal Muscular
Atrophy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Developmental Delay.
Secondary treatment population: Adult inpatients and outpatients, with
focus on
evaluation, ADL’s and strengthening. Some exposure to modalities
of
iontophoresis, ultrasound, fluidotherapy, hot and cold pack.
· Mid June- mid August 1999, Level II Fieldwork, (full time, in
progress); Sacred
Heart-St. Mary’s Hospitals, Rhinelander, WI. Primary treatment population:
adult outpatients. Expected Diagnoses: CTD’s, bursitis, industrial
injuries,
lymphadema, Traumatic Brain Injury. Focus on: edema management, use
of
modalities (TENSpro, iontophoresis, ultrasound, paraffin, fluidotherapy,
icing),
use of muscular facilitation techniques, strengthening programs, industrial
rehab/work hardening.
· WSI/ LG for ISD #196 Community Education Aquatics Program, Rosemount,
MN. Taught swimming classes for children (infant to 13) from January
1992-August 1998. Special needs adaptations for children with Developmental
Delay, Down’s Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy. Can recertify in CPR.
· Part-time Home Health Aide (behavioral)/Respite worker, Quality
Home
Health Care, Burnsville, MN from June-August 1998. Continued unassociated
with agency Jan-March 1999. Provided respite care for a 3 year old
with
Autism.
· Word processing and Internet research skills.
