Over the course of a year, I enjoyed posting to both lists, and meeting others who enjoyed
this marvelous storyteller, whether in list posts and/or in e-mail. Making friends with others
who share the values which are presented in ERB's books is an enjoyable experience.
In August, 1998, I attended the "Dum-Dum", the annual convention of ERB fans, in Baltimore (Balsoom).
There I was able to put faces and voices to those friends I had come to know in cyberspace; and
it was a great experience. I had met two of them in Floriday in January, when I attended the
night Space Shuttle launch at the invitation of Predator Seven (Dennis Wilcutt), whose brother
was the pilot of the Space Shuttle. That was one of my most memorable experiences; perhaps the
most amazing thing I have ever seen.
I met many more in Balsoom, and enjoyed meeting them all, though I wish I had been able to spend
more time with each one.
The photo to the right depicts many of the ERB Fans I met in Balsoom.
The names are listed at the Barsoomian Blade.
Photos I took in Balsoom!(this will be a slow-loading page)
Some of ERB net fans have huge web sites devoted to Edgar Rice Burroughs, and I've already linked
to them. Others, however, have personal sites which include ERB, as well as other interests. These are all sites which I enjoy visiting.
Some of my ERB friends who have sites are listed below.
I joined ERBlist in August, 1997, after cruising the net in hopes of
finding something related to Edgar Rice Burroughs and Tarzan of the Apes. Subsequently,
I joined ERBCOF-L, another listserver dedicated to my own favorite writer.
