Again, this is another thing which drew me to the books. Devolution in action is always something I admire and try to emulate whenever I can.

Tarzan didn't actually change much, if at all, in his nature, ever. He learned that others look upon actions differently. He learned that often their perception is flawed, and that the only justice is that which you create for yourself. He learned about romantic notions which didn't differ markedly from his behaviors; and which certainly don't represent realities today. To me, Tarzan is the ultimate individualist, always measuring the realities of mass society with the pure selfish actions of the individual, who is concerned with his own happiness; himself, his mate, his child, his friends, his needs;according to his own personal perception, irrespective of how social groups may view such things in the context of their own maturation.

Perhaps that's why I've always been drawn to him; that and his unparalleled prowess, again, as an individual. He is a true rebel without a cause. It's in his nature to answer only to himself.
