There is simply nothing as fascinating as physics. It defines everything we do; our very world and existence; and its creation. Whether looking at the absurdities of being blown back from a gunshot; or the effects on a warrior fallling, or jumping, in less gravitational force; to how massive the ape-man was, we are utilizing physics and its laws which cannot be ignored. It forces us to face unalterable realities, no matter how different we wish they were; and we need to ignore some of it when we want really good, imaginative science fiction. I have a PBS series on tape, or a show, "The Origin of the Universe" which is one of the best progams I've ever seen on the subject.
One of my reality problems with movies, and some books, is when they tend to depart from reality and/or the laws of physics.
Gravity and physics really pose some problems for Pellucidar, but I don't know what they would be. I can't remember if ERB tried to solve the problem of gravity by centrifugal force, or what, but I don't think Pellicudar could exist, from a physics and gravity standpoint. Are there any physicists here?
I didn't mind ignoring this problem, anymore than I minded the method of space travel utilized by JC and others. I don't care if your world is a bit questionable, so long as once you get there you show me some adventure, fighting, excitement, and some flashing-eyed and flashing-tempered princesses, too.
This physics stuff, though, is just so stimulating.
