Bane was once a Cultist by the name of Jace Dreamrider. She quickly improved in the arts of Time and Mind, but was constantly frustrated with her inability to so much as grasp the basic principles of the life arts she so desperately craved. Ever since she was ten, Jace had craved new sensation. Having been born to a conservative family in Norfolk, VA, Jace soon found herself without a home. She tried everything from drugs to alcohol to sex to music. None of it was done as many around her thought, but it was done nonetheless. After Jace had tried every thrill that could push her to the edge, she came to the conclusion that her body was simply incapable of accepting as much sensation as she desired. That’s when she learned about the power of the progenitors.
Her practice of mind arts had gained Jace a powerful friend among the Akashics, Xiao Jin. With his help she embarked on a dangerous plan. Together they took the part of her that made up her personality and memories and sotred much of it away in a hidden place in her mind. Then Xiao destroyed all memory of the traditions and sent her to the Progenitors. After several years of service the Technocracy gifted her with the body she truly wanted and instructed her in the ways of Inspired Science. At this point Xiao was supposed to contact her with a code phrase which would unlock her memories so that she would once again become herself and make good her mistake. Unfortunately at this point, Xiao was dead, the victim of an NWO raid.
Now Bane is trapped with no memories of her past. Being somewhat of a natural rule breaker, she is generally on bad terms with her superiors inside the Union. As such she is generally assigned to remote research facilities and is always partnered with Boomer, a man she believes is a Man in Black, though he is in fact a Man in White placed specifically to watch her.
Rotes
Shield the Flesh (Life 2): Before trying anything truly new, Bane will set a limit on how far her body will allow itself to be affected. If that limit is about to be encroached on in any area, the outside influence is purged.
Primal Flood (Life 3): By touching (direct skin to skin contact is nessecary) a target, Bane can force his or her body to produce a massive amount of hormones, increasing their difficulties to resist charm and seduction by one per success. This effect can also be used to create other chemicals, with varying effects.
Push the Limits (Life 2): Bane’s senses, especially touch, become hyperactive. Pain modifiers are increased by 1.
Cloud of Pleasure (Life 3): Bane’s body releases a large amount of pheromones. All targets within 10 feet must make a stamina roll, difficulty 7. All attempts to resist any seduction is at a difficulty of +(5 – successes)
[UPDATE]
Bane was stationed with her partner Boomer at Elsen Inc, a Technocratic lab just outside Richmond, when a large Nephandi strike destroyed the lab she was gaurding and escaped with an experimental White Magic Cell. As the cell involved dimensional technology, strictly off-limits to the Iteraction-X scientists running the lab, Iteration-X made every effort to wipe all evidence of the machine while at the same time attempting to track the Nyphandi. Boomer and Bane were branded as traitors and were forced to join forces with a Tradition strike force in order to escape the cyborg Brenden, and the amalgam under his command. The group set off to recover the WMC with tensions mounting between the Technocrats and Tradition Mages. After a long search with many obstacles the group arrived in Burn, the horizon realm controlled by the Nephandi archmage Zach Pardane. Zach made his power readily apparent in various ways, one of which was to destroy the walls within Bane's mind, sending her into shock. The next few hours passed by without her notice. When she finally awoke from her trauma the group had escaped Burn, except for her partner. Bane is now staying at a Cult of Ecstasy chantry house in Chicago, trying to come to terms with who she was and who she is now.
