Cropping Little Dan

This is the technique you will use to straighten your
photos after scanning. Memorize it.

Save the crooked picture to your desktop (right-click the image, click
Save Image.) Open it in Photoshop.

Choose the crop tool. (Press C to select the Crop tool, or click and hold
on the Marquee tool in the Toolbox. When the flyout menu appears, click
the Crop tool.)

Click and drag in the image

If you place the mouse pointer outside the crop marquee, Rotate crop marks
will appear. Click and drag the rounded handles to rotate the crop marquee
until one side alligns with an edge of the photograph.

Resize the crop marquee with the handles.

When the outline fits the image, press Enter.
Using Photoshop 5, you can add canvas around an image using the Crop tool.

Click and drag the crop marquee around the picture.

Drag the picture frame to enlarge it, so that there is grey space around
the image.

Resize the Crop marquee by dragging the handles outward. This will enlarge
the area around your picture.

When the marquee is the right size, press enter. The area you added will
be filled with your background color.
