If you turn right around from the rear of the front pylon, you will see the inner temple. That was the tower-like thing we saw from outside the temple's walls.

In between the columns is metal screen, in case you were wondering what that dark stuff was. Its addition is widely credited to Nobody IX of the MXXIVth Dynasty, but that could be in error.
