"I am Cornholio!!!" -- Luxor

And this, as Dan Quayle once said of an anatomically correct 'peekaboo' doll from Mexico, may be of interest to young boys...

This is the side of the Shrine itself. The figure in the center holding his one arm up high and with..., well..., let's just say his royal apendage at attention, is a fertility god.

The story of this god is rather amusing. One time Egypt went to war with a neighbor, and all the able men in a village signed up to go fight. The only young man left in town was one-armed and was, therefore, except from army duty. When the men came back from the war, some time later, all their crops had been tended..., and all their wives were pregnant.

I don't know if they threw down and killed the guy on the spot, but one way or another the one-armed man was deified and became a fertility god. Alexander the Great liked this story so much that he put that god on the temple's inner sanctum.

He may have also been just too amused to not have him up there, either.
