This is a photo of our tour guide from the Nile Admiral, Medhat, who really deserves some recognition for the fine job he does. Hi, Medhat!

Medhat's from Egypt, and has a degree in Egyptian History -- a real refreshing change from tour guides who are quite literally reading from cue cards. I'm sure that some of the ones you might get couldn't tell the difference between a mastaba and a camel's rear end without their own guide book. Medhat was not of that kind in the least.

That little thing he's holding aloft is his squiggy-noise maker. If he needed to get our attention or call us from across the ways he'd shake it, and it would go wiggy-wiggy-wiggy as he did. Kind of goofy, but it worked.
