  • Jenn & a Lizard

  • Image taken from photographs of Jenn with a coffee cup and a lizard found in Nevada. Used placement tools into Adobe Illustrator and worked over the images to combine them using pen, pencil, transparancy, gradient,and gradient mesh tools.

  • "Hycanthe"

  • This was done on an Arches watercolor cold press pad, about 11 x 8.5 in size. This was modeled after several nature shots I'd observed in my photo album to create an Underhill-type setting.

  • "Paris"

  • This image is of the model, Paris, done in pencils on a regular drawing pad.

  • "Portrait of a Girl"

  • This image is of a random girl done on watercolor paper with watercolor paint washes.

  • "Ryu"

  • This image was done on an Arches watercolor cold press pad, about 11 x 8.5 in size. The image itself was inspired by a picture I took of the Columbia River Gorge with a few obvious changes.

  • "Seated Girl"

  • This is a watercolor paint image of a girl seated, painted on watercolor paper.

  • "Self Portrait"

  • This is a self portrait done on watercolor paper with watercolor paint washes. This is not a current self portrait, accuracy wise.

  • "Two Girls"

  • This is done on Bristol Paper using different washes of Indian Ink.

    The following images were taken via digital camera and are not a decent representation of the actual pieces of art.

  • Nude Male Model--Watercolor

  • This is done on watercolor paper using washes of reds and greens.

  • Female Face

  • This is more water color on watercolor paper, using washes of reds and greens.

  • Female Profile

  • The same model and same steps as before, only viewed in profile.

  • Robot Model

  • Nude female model drawn with graphite on drawing paper. Using a technique that breaks down the shapes into 'robotic' forms.

  • Male Watercolor

  • Nude male done in watercolor washes--drawn out first and then blocked in using shadow-edge technique.

  • Seated Woman

  • Vine charcoal on paper.

  • Perspective Model

  • Woman drawn in perspective using graphite and drawing paper.

  • Lines Technique

  • Nude female model drawn in a technique that breaks down the human figure to simplified lines and gradually detailed.

  • Seated Woman--Back View

  • Seated woman, drawn using line technique and gradually getting extremely detailed and shaded. Graphite on drawing paper.

  • Seated Girl

  • Using blocking techniques, female nude model drawn in graphite on drawing paper.

  • Seated Girl 2

  • Same techniques used as above, different pose.

  • Hand Study 1

  • Simple sketching of modeled hands in graphite.

  • Hand Study 2

  • Same as above, different hands.

  • Hand Study 3

  • Study of hands, drawn using a blocking technique to break down the figure of the hand into simple shapes.

  • Face Study 1

  • In-Class drawing of other classmate, drawn in following steps: Forehead, head and hair shape, eyebrows, nose, mouth, and eyes last.

  • Face Study 2

  • Same as above, different model.

  • Face Study 3

  • Same as above, different model.

  • Face Study 4

  • Same as above, different model.

  • Face Study 5

  • Same as above, different model.

  • Clothed Model -- Face

  • Model done in vine charcoal, focus on face, drawn on drawing paper.

  • Clothed Model -- Full Body

  • Female Model first drawn in the nude for one hour and then clothing drawn over the body for one hour. Focus on clothing and how it fits the figure. Drawn in Vine charcoal on drawing paper.
