Wow. What a nice day it is. The sun is shining and it smells so wonderful. I sort of wish I wasn't stuck behind this desk working this evening. This weather reminds me of the spring I spent with Beth. I would walk to her house after school, and as the weather got warmer, I would enjoy those short walks more and more. While I wore shorts a majority of the time, I still sported a heavy winter coat during the cold winter months. Soon the winter coat turned into a light jacket or even a flannel shirt. I felt good--better-- in a flannel shirt than a winter coat (maybe I'm a little claustrophobic?).
Beth had been avoiding shaving her legs all winter, and soon she was yearning to wear shorts, so out came the razor and off came the soft leg hair I had grown fond of over the last couple of months. In this case, however, change is good. She took a short amount of time in the bathroom and emerged with smooth legs onto which she applied Peach Nectar scented Bath & Body Works lotion (damn them for discontinuing that scent!). The window was open in her living room, allowing a cool breeze in that carried that great aroma of spring with it (much like I'm getting through the opened doors here at the hotel desk).
I love the sunshine. I love rain, too (although I despise cloudy days without precipitation-- it's a big waste of clouds), but sunny days that are cool enough to actually enjoy the world around me really affects my psyche. It doesn't hurt that I have fond memories of people I especially care about to associate with these wonderful days. It's a lot like my experience with Adam camping for a few days during the summer before our Sophomore year in high school. That's the last time I've been camping, and by far it was the best experience I've ever had doing so. Now whenever I think of campfires (normal ones and hufe campfire wars [thanks for that memory, Adam!]) or roasting marshmallows (Flaming Marshmallows! [the prehistoric predecessor to Driver Paul]) or 22-mile bike rides, I inevitably think of that weekend spent with Adam.
So as the sun goes down today, I'm thankful for the opportunity to enjoy the day and the weather (even if it is from behind a desk) and the memories I have.

Movie Mini-Review: The Hunted starring Tommy Lee Jones, Becio Del Toro. Well then, I can't say I enjoyed this movie as much as I hoped. I felt after watching this picture that Jones skimmed over the script and chose this project more for the fact that his character is the good guy rather than looking at the story itself. The action, while interestingly more life-like than previous action fare, was much too slow. I don't believe the characters were examined very well throughout the movie. Even after watching the movie, I am still unsure whether Del Toro's character was a bad guy or not. Perhaps that's what director William Friedkin intended with this film, but as the average viewer, I find it makes the movie more difficult to watch. We may not want every movie force-fed to us, but we usually want to leave a movie like this content in knowing exactly what happened.
Overall, I wasn't bored with this movie, but I left feeling a bit empty. (4/10)
