Okay this is the chronicle that was written half way through August with a few additions. Most have read this before, but due to a mishap it was erased from the board.
Well this is the first Chronicle since Lost retired as the Editor in Chief. After careful consideration the position was bestowed upon Rayne. Unfortunately due to some unforeseen problems hse has been unable to be on the mud enough to write a chronicle. My condolences to Rayne. Therefore, I, Setsuna, am filling in for her this time as a guest editor.
In a never ending quest to make AugMUD the best it can be, the immortal staff has worked many long hours creating new skills/spells, fixing bugs, and building new zones. So we should all give them a pat on the back for a job well done.
Greizl spent many long nights working on the numerous new skills/spells, now in place. For those new to the mud you will have to do some exploring to find many of these.
With a lot of help and patience from the players, the immortal staff has been able to hunt down and fix many bugs. With the continued help from the players they will be able to continue to do so. I would like to extend a thank-you, from all the staff, for your patience and help with the many crashes that have occured.
Some of the new zones that have been added, just to keep everyone up to speed are The Third Pit of Hell(a high level grouping zone with many aggressive mobs), the Hyvarii Wastelands, the Sea Port(aimed at level 80), Ghenna(a zone with some really neat mobs), as well as Guayanna. Some of these date back to the player wipe but if you haven't checked them out, do check them out. Also do look for more new and exciting zones.
In other news, it was decided that the exp lost when a player dies is too harsh for low level players and too lenient for high level players. So watch for modifications to this in the near future.
As well some changes have occured to the immortal staff. Brymstone was demoted with the chance to appeal the decision. And Rave and Setsuna have made it to full immortal status.
This concludes yet another edition of the AugMUD Chronicle. Some news not included in the chronicle can be found in the 'news' file. To read it just type news.
As always if you have an article you wish to add to the chronicle e-mail it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca

On a dark night, in a bright computer lab, the chronicler has no life...until...wait for it...the Red Jelly Bean walks in reminding her that it's chronicle time again.... So here I am all, sitting at this lonely computer, held at Jelly Bean point, writing yet another edition of the chronicle. Sad isn't it.
First off, in the 'wonderful' immortal world there have been a few changes; some good, some not so good. As most of you know Rawther has resigned as head builder(we will all miss his great contribution to the mud). Rayne has temporarily(maybe permanently) resigned her position as an Immortal because she hasn't been able to be on much lately. On a much happier note; several players have made it through the 100 levels and become Lesser Immortals. Congratulations go out to Baldor, Nyboe, Yoru, and Kiera on thier fine leveling. For those who have not heard, I am now Editor in Chief of the AugMUD Chronicle. (*Setsuna throws a party for herself*)
In our mortal staff, we have a new and glorious Bard, Trouble!!! *everyone cheers to congratulate Trouble and the Red Jelly Bean throws little red jelly beans*. As Kiera immed, she has given up her positionas Bard, and nice, kind Trouble took over. Next thing we know she'll be taking over the world....(just kidding she wouldn't do that...or would she...)
Someone please take pity on me, the Red Jelly Bean is only asking for 3 red jelly beans and a left red shoe as ransom...please...
On with the news...This is the bug hunting that never ends, it goes on and on my friend...That's right people we have bugs, as usual. So if you spot a bug, report it with the bug command and we will get it fixed as soon as possible. All reports need to be in as much detail as possible as it makes bug fixing a lot easier. Your help is greatly appreciated by all who play AugMUD.
For those of you interested in the coding news, there were a few changes made. Some of these were successful, some were not. Never the less here is a list of the changes; Lightning was added, but had to be removed because it was too harsh; AC levels were altered so that eq only lowered it by the stated amount; the autoquests were altered so that you could only gain the quest eq once.( I don't know how well this works). These I believe are the major changes; I am sure I have missed a few.
Help!!! Please!!! Your chronicler is being force fed jelly beans until the ransom demand is met or the chronicle is finished, please ransom me...please...
Okay now the part you have all been waiting for...*into music*... THIEF SKILLS...*the crowd goes wild* Okay a list of the new thief skills has been designed; however, it will be a while before they are implemented as our coders are busy fixing bugs. Fortunately, Greizl should be returning from sabbatical real soon and will probably get a chance to code some of them in...so once again be patient, the skills are on the way.
New Thief skills as follows:
1. Assasinate: gives you a small chance of an instant kill(no exp though)
2. Enhanced Damage: you will be able to do more damage with your piercing weapon than other classes - warriors will be getting this too.
3. Dodge
4. Double Strike: basically second attack - warriors will get this too.
5. Trip: you bring your opponent to the ground - similar to bash
6. Disarm
7. Sap: basically you knock your opponent out with a blow to the back of the head
8. Blind Fighting: lets you see your inv and eq while blind or in the dark
Well I hope you will like all these new skills once they are implemented, but do be patient, it will be a bit before they get implemented.
With that final note this concludes this month's chronicle, thanks for taking the time to read. I'd like to thank Strieff and Trouble for their additions. And as always if you have anything to contribute send an e-mail to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca or mudmail me with your ideas.
Oh one more thing, I'd like to thank you all for your overwhelming support in the Free Setsuna from the Red Jelly Bean Campaign. Unfortunately no one delivered the ransom required as there are no left red shoes around.
hmmm...interesting...I made the chronicle 2 lines too long...oh well.

"When to the sessions of sweet silent thought I summon up rememberance of things past..."
A voice hath come to me in my sleep. Twas only a whisper, but the words were harsh and cold, ripping through my very soul, sending shivers down my spine. It brought a message which I now bring to you... I remember the the very words... "I shall return...I shall return. You are powerless to stop me for you cannot afford my price..." Repeating those words sends shivers ripping through my soul. The voice was that of the Undead Comic Once a year he steps out of the shadows into our world to taunt us with his horrid jokes. As you well know he cannot be killed only briefly silenced. His ransom demand far exceeds the gold coins I have. In fact it is more than double and we only have till Christmas to deliver. I fear the worst, as should you. Even pooling all the gold from the entire realm will not give us enough to pay the ransom. He will be back I am certain Miracles happen, we can only pray that one happens, otherwise we are doomed.
In a recent trip to the Grunting Boar Inn I discovered the drunks are now sipping their beers contentedly. It seems the streets of Midgaard are filling Times are changing, Midgaard is changing, we must not let things get out of control. Now more than ever we need those Cityguards and Peacekeepers to protect us, protect us from the...Oranges...
In our realm, like many others, people come and some go. Those that leave are often drawn back by unknown forces. Then there are those content to live there lives out here. Which leads me to the position of Head Builder. Sadly our former Head Builder had to retire, but Kiera, after much thought, has graciously accepted this position. Nyboe, Yoru and Rayne have offered their services to her when she needs help. They will all do a wonderful job. Yes, you heard correct, Rayne has returned...As I said some leave, but return in the end.
As a special treat, an early Christmas present you could say, Multiplaying is now allowed. You are allowed up to five characters, but you may only play two at one time. A word of caution, idle players will self-delete after a certain amount of time passes. This is a limited time offer so do take advantage of it while you can. In the new year the staff will be taking a look and re-evaluating the issue of multiplaying. Bottom line, enjoy it while you can for it will not last forever. Other minor changes include a new death trap policy. To learn more type 'help dt'. If you type 'help area' it will show you how to use our new area command.
With that I conclude this issue of the Chronicle. If you have anything you'd like to see in the Chronicle send it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca and it will be considered. As well to keep up with the regular happenings read the Bard's Board, it is down and west from this room. For quests check out the Quest Board down and south from this room. For a laugh, buy a guide, down and north from this room(he's got an answer to everything).

note: a golden flower is drawn at the end of the page, a signature perhaps.
First off, I would like to apologize to the public for not posting a Chronicle in the last couple months. Truth be know there should have been one at the start of December. As a result many of you did not hear of the Idle Timers that were created. I apologize once again.
The Idle Timers were not created to punish players. They were created to keep the number of 'not being used' player files down. They are particularly harsh for low level players because of the multiplaying policy we instituted. Thus far they have proven quite effective. For those who are curious they work like this:
lvl 3 or under --> 7 days.
Mortals --> 30 days
Immortals --> 90 days
So basically as a new player you have one week before your player will time out and delete. Most new players make it past level 3 within a couple days so for the most part it isn't a problem. For the rest of the mortals a month is quite reasonable. So there you have it the info that should have been out ages ago. I apologize for not having it out sooner.Over the last couple months there has been very little to report. I tried to get a Christmas story written for a special Christmas edition; but I ran out of time. So instead let me tell you about the Fruit Wars.
Way back at the beginning of December a couple immortals got a hold of some fruit and decided to have a little war. From this came fruit bombs, fruit grenades, watermelon seeds and ticking packages. Anyone know what a Greizlberry is? I myself prefer the ring of ShadowspawnBerry. In any case the first couple weeks of the dreaded war were devastating. The United Citrus Front seemed unstoppable; always going after the little guys and begging people to join. Never-the-less the Fruit Foreign Legion held strong and true. They never stooped to begging people to join them. They were the true victors of the first portion of the war. A couple weeks into the war a cease fire was called so the sides could regroup and write finals and other things. During this time peace was restored to the chaos that had consumed the Immortal world. However, the cease fire did not stop the United Citrus Front from recruiting more people. How successful they were is still a mystery. After a while the cease fire was broken by the Fruit Foreign Legion and Chaos returned to the lands. Packages were being delivered once again until...a civilian stumbled across one, opened it and became covered in fruit. My heart goes out to this injured civilian. After this incident the Fruit Foreign Legion called an end to the terrible war. The end was not a surrender but a humanitarian act. It truly showed the strength of the Fruit Foreign Legion. Even the United Citrus Front could not contest the cease fire. To do so would have destroyed all faith the people had in them. Out of the devastating war rose new hope through peace. Once again the chaos that once engulfed the immortals of AugMUD has been chased away thanks the Fruit Foreign Legion and their end to the horrible Fruit Wars.
This concludes yet another edition of the AugMUD Chronicle. If you have anything you would like included in the next Chronicle send it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca or mudmail me with your ideas.

Once again I bring you the latest news and gossip from around the AugMUD realm...
Rumors:
Rumor has it that the Builders of AugMUD have begun preparations for a reordering of the world. It has been speculated that the world is changing and that soon it will have a whole new look. This means that all you explorers are really going to have some exploring to do. Unfortunately not many details are known yet which suggests that this will be occuring somewhere in the near but distant future. Look for more information on this exciting gossip...
Rumor also has it that there has been some recent uproar in the City of Midgaard about its lack of originality. It seems that the citizens are growing tired of the same old Temple. They want change, they no longer want to be living in a city of the past...they want a city of the future. A city they can invest in and be proud of. Perhaps even one with a decent housing market...There is no info on how this unrest will be resolved but maybe the citizens will get their way.
AugMUD news:
A few new features have been added to the AugMUD package. These include:
1. The reply command: This simply allows you to reply to a tell sent to you without having to 'tell' back. ..but be warned sometimes your reply can go to the wrong person if you receive two tells in a row from two different people.
2. A new quest: rumor has it that this is aimed at level 20+ and that it is in the desert somewhere...so go explore and find out.
3. Train Command: Just what you've all be waiting for...The chance to increase your hitpoints, movement, or mana. It costs 1 practice session to do so. For more information type 'help train'.
4. Class-specific Boards: Ever had a question that just concerns your class but been stuck placing it on the Social board and getting a lot of answers that weren't entirely accurate because they came from another class. Well this solves the problem. Each guild bar has its own board. so feel free to write you class gossip and questions on them.
5. Beggars: You know how beggars are rather boring...well not any more. Next time you see one be kind, give them some money and see what they do.
Well this concludes yet another edition of the Chronicle...tune in next time for more gossip, news, and exciting stories(maybe). We now return you to your mudding fun. Enjoy!
As always if you have any ideas or anything you would like to see in the Chronicle send it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca and I'll see what I can do. All submissions will be annonymous unless you state otherwise.

Once again I come to you from the dark corner of a computer lab; bringing you the latest AugMUD news and gossip...
A lot has happened over the last month or so. It seems that the world of AugMUD is being brought up to speed with the times. Although a slow process it is. There are many great new things that you players should be aware of and so from a far away place and time I bring to you...'The Tale of the AugMUD Immortals...'
At first I thought it was only a rumor...but as time passed I knew it was not a rumor. Our head coder has gone on a rampage in hopes to bring new, exciting things to our realm. Among these are the following:
- 3 new autoquests
-> Arabquest - situated in the desert this quest is aimed at those brave adventurers level 20+ and awards them, upon completion, with a prize and 25 quest points. A fun filled adventure for all those looking for a new challenge.
-> Boxquest - This one is suitable for all levels. Rumor has it that to complete it one must solve a series of riddles. Upon completion the brave adventurer receives 20 quest points and a special prize. To find it one just needs to explore the many depths of the sewers.
-> Rumor has it that Abd al Hazard is seeking revenge on players, level 40+, who have completed the necropolis quest. So if he hollers a warning to you watch out cause its you he wants. Upon completion the brave adventurer receives 25 quest points and a very useful prize.
- The score screen now shows how many practice sessions you have left and how much weight you are carrying.
- Hunting - Rangers can have a blast with this new skill. Although you don't gain it until you reach level 25. This allows you to track a target automatically and then engage in combat when the hunt ends.
- When searching for hidden spells you will no longer run into this problem: 'you need to learn animate dead before you can learn animate dead' Instead a list of prerequisites will be given for that spell.
- With the new train command players can now increase their hit, move, and mana points at the expense of practice sessions. Warriors can also train the weapon they are wielding(ie: weapon specialization). For more information simply type 'help train' and it will tell you all you need to know.
- 'Detect magic' is pretty cool now. Spellcasting mobs now give off a spellcaster's aura which can be seen with detect magic. Soon players may also give off such an aura.
- 'Control weather' now has more of an effect on the weather. Rumor has it that it can cause sunshine to become thunder in a matter of minutes with a couple castings or vice versa.
- Thief mobs now use thief skills in combat. So watch out for those skills that most of us would die for. They also backstab you if they are agressive or pick your pockets as you pass by.
- 'Locate Object' now looks for objects with the specified keyword rather than the first keyword of the first object it finds.
- 'Kai' is now in place. This is a level 34, non-automatic, warrior skill. With this the warrior will, at the cost of 100 mana, use a battle cry to build up energies to make the next kick, punch, roundhouse, etc. cause more damage. If it goes unused it will be expelled at the end of combat. Sorry no storing it for the next fight.
- At level one warriors also can practice a 'punch' skill. It does less damage than a kick, but it has a faster recovery time.
- A new 'directions' command is available for use. It will give a player general directions to a desired zone from the market square. So check it out and see how helpful it can be.
- Newbies automatically enter the game equiped with basic equipment. Each class has its own set of equipment.
- Mudhomes are pretty cool. If you save enough quest points and buy a mudhome this is what comes with it:
-> can see roomflags in your home.
-> heal at 2x the normal rate within your home.
-> can 'invite' guests into your home.
-> can use 'home' to teleport home from the temple of midgaard.
-> can toggle on/off chat-mode within their home
pretty cool huh?
- 'Autograts' is now in place. When you gain a level you will be congratulated with one of 21 different messages.
Well that's it for what has been done...now for what is in progress:
- Riding - This will be cool when its done. Soon we will be able to
ride horses. Expect to hear more about this in a couple weeks. I can't
wait for this one.
- Navigation - this skill is still on the drawing board. When implemented this will be an all calss, non-automatic skill. It will explain how to get to a particular zone from where you stand. So watch for it in the not so near but not so distant future.
As you can see there has been a lot that has happened in the last month. There will be even more soon. As for the Weapon specialization, mentioned earlier, there is no limit on the number of weapons you can train for except as imposed by your practice sessions. All of your specialized weapons can be displayed using the 'ratings' command.
Aside from that...
The citizens of Midgaard are still unhappy and are calling for change. At
the last council meeting in Midgaard it was decided that Midgaard needed
changing. So look for some minor changes which will then be followed by
some major changes.
Apparently rumor has it that there is still this great re-ordering of the world coming although no one is exactly sure when that is going to happen. All we know is that it will be in the not so near but not so distant future. So watch for that. There will be plenty of warning before that happens so I am told.
And with that I conclude yet another edition of The AugMUD Chronicle. As always if you have anything that you want to submit send them to mud@berio. augustana.ab.ca and I will try to publish them for you. Look for the next edition of the chronicle in another month if not sooner.

What better way to celebrate Canada day than with a new edition of the Chronicle...thus...here is the next edition...
Well it's been a while since the chronicle was posted...but not a super amount has happened in that time. Don't get the wrong idea though... things have happened...so here's a brief update:
1. mounts: the mount code has been finished and implemented. Included in this is a riding skill so you can actually use the mount. For more information on mounts and riding check the helpfiles for 'riding' mounts and 'saddlebags'. Be warned though...there may still be a couple of bugs. So if the mud crashes due to what you think is your mount let an immortal know.
2. Anne: Anne is an immortal who runs quests...thats it. So if you ever see her on ask her for a quest.
3. Magic Mobs Retrained: It would appear that in the last little while or so that the mobiles who use magic decided to go in for some retraining. so you can expect it to be more of a challenge to kill them...but it is still possible to kill them so go for it. If you do manage to kill these guys you'll be quite pleased with the results.
Okay, for some of you that was old news...but here's some newer news:
- Since this is a non-pkill mud it was decided (after Guardian suggested it) that we should code it so that you cannot attack your fellow players. So you can expect this to come into effect soon. However, until this happens if you happen to accidentally(cause I know none of you would do it on purpose) attack a fellow player it will earn you a pk flag and you will be frozen. Thankfully though you will be able to be pardoned by any greater immortal or higher(we are usually on everyday). The punishment is steep because of past problems. If all goes well though this should not be this way for long.
- The citizens of Midgaard are busily preparing for a day of celebration. Rumor has it that they plan to honor the Creators, immortals and heroes of AugMUD in a grand celebration. Apparently, this celebration is scheduled to be held in the next few months(real time). So look for this to happen in the not so near but not so distant future.
Aside from that there is not much to report. Hopefully I'll have more to report next month so that I can post a chronicle. If not...expect a chronicle to be posted in September.
This concludes yet another edition of the semi-occasional AugMUD Chronicle. As always, if you have anything you'd like to submit send it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca and I'll try to post it for you. All submissions may be annonymous if so desired but unless specified credit will be given where credit is due.

In the last month and a half much has happened. Most of the changes were not building or coding changes but they were important none the less. The immortal staff has changed dramatically since the last Chronicle...
First off we have a coupld new faces showing up in yellow. A congratulations goes out to both Xent and Memnoch from the entire immortal staff. They both excelled through the mortal levels with ease and grace and have been rewarded with immortality. We hope that they will find many ways to help players and the mud. So Congrats Xent and Memnoch!!
A congratulations also goes out to Slayt who achieved immortality but by his own choosing decided it wasn't for him and thus he decided to begin again at level 1...although from his level now you would hardly know it. So Congrats Slayt!!
On a sadder note one of our most valued staff members, Greizl, has retired. For a long time Greizl was considered, next to the players, the very heart and soul of AugMUD. During his time as both a player and an immortal he made countless improvements to the mud. He was able to breathe life into Midgaard, give us the ability to ride horses and the like, and fix numerous bugs. Unfortunately, the time comes for every great player to move on to bigger and better things...and hang up those mudding boots. Greizl's love for AugMUD showed in all he did and we are sure to see him from time to time...none the less he is and will always be greatly missed.
On another sad note...the God's of AugMUD, after a long debate, demoted a
fellow immortal. They felt it was necessary to uphold the policies, both
written and unwritten, set forth to bring some order to the chaos that is
AugMUD. Baldor was demoted from Greater Immortal to Level 75 due to the
following charges against him:
1. Excessive spam over public channels...mainly gossip
2. Inappropriate language over public channels
3. Favoritism to the exclusion/ignoring of other players
4. Rudeness to newbies
5. Dc'ing people's internet connections instead of using the various
justice rooms
6. Allowing other players, specifically mortals, to step in and bascially
tell people not to alienate Baldor because by doing so they will
alienate the people who can help them the most
7. Straight out abuse of power as outlined by the preceding
8. Using his immortal's power to level a player character of his. This was
a while ago and is not a major thing, but it does contribute
9. Invading people's privacy by sitting in 'A Secret Hideaway' switched
into a grey squirrel
10. Excessive afk
11. Airing punishments over gossip that should have been private
12. Scolding players over public channels. This also falls under rudeness
to newbies.
The behavior outlined by the preceding charges is not tolerated from any
immortal and if another immortal is caught behaving in such a fashion they
will be warned and if the behavior persists they too will be demoted. It
saddens the God's when they have to punish a fellow staff member so strictly,
but it is necessary or all would turn to Chaos.
As a result of the preceding, the immortals have decided that they need to revise their policies and as such the policies are being re-written. Once this is completed you will be able to view the new policies with the 'policy' command. A notice will be posted upon their completion.
On a brighter note, two immortals, because of their hard work and dedication, have been promoted. Cotu was deemed worthy of the Greater God position and thus was promoted from Demigod to Greater God. Setsuna was deemed worthy of the Demigod position and thus was promoted from Greater Immortal to Demigod. A congratulations goes out to them both. Congrats and keep up the good work!!
In other news, the mount code is still a bit buggy and you are adviesed to exercise caution when using mounts as the mud may crash. The immortals are working on fixing this problem but have been unsuccessful thus far. Therefore, if the mud crashes and you suspect your mount is at fault feel free to mudmail Setsuna, or any other immortal, with a detailed description of what you think caused the crash. A notice will be posted as soon as the problem has been fixed. Until then, most high level players will be able to give advice on what not to do.
On that note this edition of the AugMUD Chronicle comes to a close. As always if you have anything you would like to submit to the Chronicle feel free to send it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca and I will post them for you. All submissions may be anonymous; however, unless otherwise specified credit will be given where credit is due. You can look for the next edition of the Chronicle in a month or two...until then Happy Mudding!!

Hello, you have chosen to read the latest edition of the AugMUD Chronicle. Thank-you and have a good day...
A couple things to start off with...
Four new zones have been added: Princess Bride(lvl 15-50) Waterford(lvl 15-50), Underdark(lvl 30-70) and Dragon's Graveyard(lvl 80-100). Do feel free to check them out just watch for the occasional unexpected excitement. There are plans to add even more zones so be on the look out for even more adventurous places to roam.
Also for those interested Kick now works properly without crashing the game and Zombie player corpses no longer crash the game. A big thank-you goes out to Lost for fixing those problems. If you find any other bugs please mudmail and imm with a detailed report of what you believe the bug is so that it can be fixed asap.
There are plans for a re-design of the builder's guide(you can find it at AugMUD's homepage: http://mud.augustana.ab.ca/~mud). Soif you have an interest in building you may want to watch for updates on that.
As well it has been rumored that a new quest is being created. Nothing much is known about it yet but if you like questing you may want to keep your eyes and ears open for clues. Careful though...the clues may be misleading and discrete so take care when investigating them.
On a sadder note Cabot resigned her position as Justicar for AugMUD. She is still around but she won't be in charge of keeping justice anymore. The Justicar's power has now been passed on to Cotu so do feel free to congratulate him on his new position. For those curious Cotu did resign as Questmaster; however we do have some ideas in mind for a replacement but no decision has been made yet. More updates will be included in the next edition of the chronicle.
On a more curious note it seems that there has been some rumor that King Welmar is not fit to rule anymore but we have yet to confirm any of them. We hope to be able to provide you all with a detailed report soon so keep your eyes and ears open for stuff about that.... Maybe it has something to do with that quest mentioned earlier... one never can tell.
This concludes yet another edition of the semi-occassional AugMUD Chronicle...Tune in next time for more rumors and speculations. As always if you have anything you would like to submit feel free to send it to mud@berio.augustana.ab.ca and I will see about including it. Until next time Happy Mudding!!

Hello, Welcome to the latest edition of the AugMUD Chronicle. For full enjoyment please sit back, relax and think happy thoughts while reading. Happy thoughts make any bad news sound not so bad...although in this edition there shouldn't be much bad news. Now on with this month's exciting features:
Immortal Staff changes:
1. First off, on behalf of all the Immortals on AugMUD I'd like to take
this opportunity to welcome Clawlady and Ghenghis to our Immortal Staff.
A big congratulations goes out to them both!
2. A big congrats goes out to Anne as she has been instated as a full Immortal. Anne has also taken over the Questmaster position from Julia and as such she is the person to see about all your questing stuff. As well, since Anne is a full immortal Trouble has resigned her position of Bard.
3. A congrats goes out to Greizl as well. He is acting as Bard until a more suitable candidate can be found. So if you wanna know what we immortals are up to Greizl is the man to speak to.
4. On a sadder note Shadowspawn resigned his position as both Webmaster and Lesser Implementor for AugMUD. He will be greatly missed around here and his name will be remembered forever. On a happier note, as a result of this Cabot has stepped forward and taken over the position as Webmaster. My advice to you is check out the changes to the webpages as some of them are quite neat!
Coding Stuff:
Most of the changes that have occured in the last month or so have been
mainly bug fixes except for the addition of 'Dual Classing'. Yes you heard
right...the land of Aug now supports dual classing. What this means is
that if you like the skills of a warrior and the skills of a thief you can
dual class(after level 10) and gain the best of both worlds. Check out the
help file on dual classing for more information. Aside from that the
coding staff has announced that major changes to the code, for the most
part, are on hold until the game has stabilized.
Building Stuff:
If you like building and have experience with the AugMUD Builder's guide
you'll be interested to know that the guide is undergoing a major re-write.
If you have any suggestions for anything that should be included Kiera
would appreciate any help you could give her.
Other Stuff:
The Mud Connector listing for AugMUD has now been updated to reflect
many of our new policies and changes. Do stop by the Mud Connector
and check out the changes.
In other news it appears that there is some growing tension between King Welmar and the Earl of Sundhaven. There has been some speculation that Welmar isn't exactly well. There has been no proof presented to back up such rumors but we are working on either confirming or denying these rumors.
