Disclaimer: These characters belong to Marvel comics, but for the exception of Gambit's daughter, Gabriel, I will not make any money from this and I don't have the money to give to you if I were sued! So don't sue me! This is my first Fan-Fic to be completed and is not one of my best, so if you don't like this one, too bad. Some of the history of this story may seem off, but I wrote this before knowing much about him or having the second LS with him in. Enjoy.

Remembrance

by Christine "Belladonna' Demerath

He laid they sleeping peacefully, this was the first time he had a pleasant dream in a very, very long time. This man is known as Bishop, a mutant, has come from a future that might never occur. He has become one of the mighty X-Men, which he had dreamed of ever sense he was told about them as a young child from his grandmother and adopted-father. He never knew his grandmother's name, but he knew his father. His father was none other then Remy Lebeau, the Witness. Also the man that was in the room next to him, just a lot younger and with a different title, Gambit. The dream was about the Witness, Shard, and himself. It was more of a memory then a dream, he and Shard, his sister, had been taking in by the Witness about six months ago. Although they missed their Grandmother, they were happy. They had food, a place to stay, and someone who cared for them, instead of a life on the ferrous streets of his time. Safe from gangs, evil-mutants, and starvation. That night when Bishop had gone to bed and was sleeping he heard the sounds of shouting coming from down the hall. He became curious and decided to investigate. As he crept down the hall he deciphered one of the voices,it was the Witness's, but the other was a mystery. When he got to the room he saw the other person and that person was a women. She was in her late twenties and was beautiful to all extents. She had long fiery red hair, blue-eyes and a perfect body-shape. "What yea mean by that, Gabriel?" the Witness questioned.

"What I mean is that you shouldn't have brought those two children here! They're trouble!" the women remarked. "Why not leave them on the streets, again?"

"What have they done? They're only children, are they not? They have done nothing to deserve being kicked out of my home. They have no where to turn, if I would turn them out!" he spoke in a normal manner.

"I don't see you picking up any other children! So why these two?" she was fearous.

"`Cause I know how they feel! And I also did it for their grandmother! You know how important she was to me! She was the only one of my friends left, that I would do anything for!" he had raised his voice a little more this time.

"Yes, I know your promise. But she didn't ask you to spend time with them, just make sure they were taking after. They are taking up to much of your time. So why are you?" she asked once more.

"`Cause I care about them. I consider them my children, too. You must understand, daughter, they are important to me. And I'll do the same things for them as I would for you," he said softly. Bishop could still hear the whole thing and he knew that the Witness no matter how he acted toward them he cared. And with that Bishop awoke.

A knock came at the door. "Yes?" Bishop said as he looked toward the door. The doorknob turned and a man peeked his head throw. It was Gambit.

"Hey, pup, breakfast is ready. We were wondering were you were. Are you ok?" Gambit asked his friend.

"Yes, I'm fine."

"Are you coming to breakfast?"

"Yes, just let me get dressed!" Bishop replied. And with that Gambit started to close the door. "Oh, and Remy thanks for caring." "Moi?" he questioned in mock-humor. "Never cared about another soul in my life. The only reason I came up was because they wouldn't eat without you!," Remy replied with a chuckle and a sly smile. With that Gambit went to wait outside the door, which left Bishop with a smile on his face.
