Thoughts About Abortion
Is human life sacred or not. That seems to be the main question to consider about whether abortion should be allowed or not. If you say that there is nothing sacred about a embryo that has all the potential possible then all human life has been devalued. Young people having to deal with the fact that our society allows unborn children to be destroyed would intuitively know that society is saying there is nothing sacred about human life and therefore have a value system where murder is less serious than most people would like to have them believe. If the planet was becoming over populated and cuts had to be made I would rather that it was made somewhere else. I live in a society that thinks if someone is evil and insane it is a good reason to keep them alive where yu would think that it would be a great reason to get rid of them.
What about a womans right to choose whether to breed or not. I would want to know of women wanting an abortion how did they become pregnant. If they were careless, felt decieved, or had any other non rape excuse for accidentally getting pregnant then they should not say they did not have a choice about becoming pregnant. Still they would be subjected to a nine month experience that may impose hardships on them, even if it is always guaranteed that they can give up any unwanted child after birth. Suppose yu had a spaceship on a long flight and yu got a distress call from someone who had to use the emergency escape pod to escape their destroyed spaceship. His only chance of surviving is that yu will divert and pick him up, no one else can. If yu do divert the voyage will take quite a bit longer, yu will have to conserve on supplies, and there would be other inconveniences. What are yu going to do? I remember a story I read about a congressional hearing on some aspect of abortion. One lady went there and said that she had an abortion, they gave her the aborted fetus for some reason. She looked at the baby girl and she said that it was beautiful, perfect, and dead. She felt that she had murdered her baby.
