This is a short X-Files novel set immediately after the 1998 movie Fight the Future. It contains possible spoilers for seasons 1-5 and the movie itself, and is rated R for language, violence, and sexual situations. Like all of my writing, it assumes that the fundamental relationship between Mulder and Scully is a profound, romantic love. Those who do not agree may consider themselves forewarned.

Summary: As Mulder and Scully enter a new phase in their relationship in the wake of the Blackwood virus case, a man who disappeared decades earlier returns from a remote region of Tibet. This event prompts a new investigation that has implications both for the X-Files and for Mulder and Scully personally.
