THE TRIAL OF GAMBIT

As most of you know by now, Gambit {TM} has been dealt out of the X-Men {TM} lineup by the creative powers that be at ol' Mighty Marvel.

In issue #350 of the Uncanny X-Men; it was revealed that Gambit was employed by Sinister {TM} to assemble the Marauders who were turned loose in the Morlock Tunnels to wipe out the mutants that were living beneath the city.

Added to the plot twist, we find a mysterious Eric the Red who wickedly twists the X-family against Gambit. We see Joseph who has been mercilessly tortured by the villain and we wonder why the amnesiatic Magneto has fallen so easily.

Then the coup-de-grace! Eric the Red is revealed to the readers as Magneto {TM}, the greatest mutant villain to ever grace the pages of any X-title.

The only drawback was that issues 351- 353 have no real mention of Magneto; however, when X-Men #72 finally came out, we were treated to some more Magneto mysteries. I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't read it. I'm just glad Magneto is back working his evil machinations.
