Nature's Solace
By Elizabeta
April 8, 1998

Tiny leaves
growing on bare branches,
like rings and jewelry
that adorns a once
naked
hand

Red buds
fluorescent
pink,
like cherry
cotton
candy
wild splashes,
like waves of
pastel
Kool Aid
upon a brown background
tinted with
glistening
emeralds

Waterfall
noisy
splashes,
like tinkling
bells
and fairy
chimes

Birds
chirping
softly,
join in the chorus
Nature's own music
plays in a secret
radio
station
in the woods

Last rays of
sunlight
trace the steep hills
softly
as they
slowly
fade into the
twilight
