FINAL FANTASY VII:

Return of Sephiroth PART 3
Sephiroth awakens the WEAPONS
By: Dave (Cloud)

AVALANCHE stood there speechless. A city once populated with millions became a graveyard of bodies everywhere. Dead bodies were in cars, buildings, and on the street. “Have you learned anything yet,” Sephiroth asked, “or am I gonna have to do more damage?” “You think by wiping out an entire city will make us give up!” Cloud shouted, “well Sephiroth you’re WRONG! You will have to wipe us out for us to give up!” “Very well,” Sephiroth said grinning, “if that’s what you want, that’s what you’ll get!” Sephiroth charged up his Pale Horse attack. “RUN!” Cid shouted. The crew ran as fast as they could, through the trail of blood from the people slaughtered and straight out of the park. When they reached the exit, they noticed the cab they took to get here was still there. “We’ll take the cab out of here!” Cloud shouted. Just as they ran toward the cab, Sephiroth fired his Pale Horse attack. “You’re not getting away that easily,” Sephiroth said as he fired. The blast hit the cab, blowing it to pieces. “Shit!” Barret shouted as one of the doors soared over his head, “Now what do we do?” The team was stuck in the park, with no way out.

“Admiral,” the captain said, “the president wants us to retreat as soon as possible.” “We’re not leaving Cloud and the others behind,” the admiral said. “Sir!” the captain responded, “The president has ordered us…” “The president isn’t HERE!” the admiral shouted, “We are gonna get Cloud and the others out of there before we do anything. Now do I make myself clear?” The captain didn’t respond. “DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?” the admiral shouted. “Yes, sir,” the captain answered. “Good,” the admiral said, “Now I want four helicopters t go out to the city and get them out of there.” “Yes sir,” the captain responded. The captain walks to the intercom. “Docking bay,” he said, “I want four choppers to take off for Manhattan and get Cloud and the others out of there.” “Understood,” the docking bay commander, “Get four choppers ready for take off!” Within a matter of minutes, four choppers took off from the carrier and flew toward Manhattan.

Cloud and the others continued to search for another empty car. “The only way were gonna get outta here is by car,” Cloud shouted as the team exited Central Park. “I see one!” Tifa shouted. The gang went over to the empty cab and entered. “Yes!” Vincent shouted, “the keys are still in the ignition.” They started the car up and drove off just as another one of Sephiroth’s fireballs struck the ground. “Damn, that was close!” Barret shouted. The team sped off toward the Chrysler Building. “So they think they can get away so easily,” Sephiroth said as he looked toward the Chrysler Building, “Well they will be rid of once and for all!” Sephiroth charged up another energy ball and aimed it right for the Chrysler Building. “Cloud and the rest of the team turned a corner. “LOOK OUT!” Cait Sith shouted as Cloud ran into another car. “#$@%,” Cid shouted, “We’re gonna have to run now!” “Well lets don’t sit here, “Yuffie shouted, “Let’s RUN!” The team quickly exited the car and started running. “Which way?” Tifa asked. “I don’t know. Just keep running!” Cloud answered. They ran with all their might, trying desperately to find a way out of the city. “You all shall be crushed by the wrath of the mighty Sephiroth!” Sephiroth shouted as he fired his energy ball. Red looked up. “Turn back,” he shouted, “turn back!” “AHHH!” Tifa shouted. While Cait’s friend was running, he saw a tequila bottle. “Tequila, man!” he shouted. “Get out of my way!” Barret shouted as he pushed Cait’s friend out of the way. The energy ball smashed right into the Chrysler Building, breaking it in half. The half started to fall. “OH SHIT!” Cid shouted. “It’s gonna fall on us!” Tifa screamed. Cait Sith turned around and noticed his friend had fallen. “Pal!” Cait shouted, “I’m coming! Just hold on!” “Tequila man!” Cait’s friend shouted. Cloud looked back. “Cait, NO!” Cloud shouted. Vincent grabbed him. “Cloud forget about him!” he said, “We’ve got to keep moving!” “But what about Cait Sith?” Cloud demanded. “Cloud, he’s just a $#@%$# robot!” Cid shouted, “he isn’t alive!” As Vincent released Cloud, the top half of the Chrysler Building fell on Cait Sith and his friend. “NOOOOOOO!” Cloud shouted. The blast of the impact threw Barret and Cid into a nearby toy shop. Cloud, Tifa and Red were thrown into a weapon shop while Vincent and Yuffie slammed into nearby cars. Sephiroth looked down on the on the helpless team and laughed. “You can’t defeat me!” he shouted, “Nothing can defeat me! MHA HAHAHAHAHA!” Sephiroth flew away toward the Atlantic Ocean.

Cloud and the rest team got up and inspected the damage. “This is unreal,” Barret said as he got up. “Poor Cait Sith,” Tifa said as Cloud helped her up. “He was a good ally,” Cloud said, “even though he was a toy.” “Vincent got up as he helped Yuffie to her feet. “How can we defeat one of such great power?” he asked. “It’ll take a miracle!” Yuffie said in a sad, depressed voice. “Let’s just find a way out of the city,” Cloud said as he looked toward the now destroyed Chrysler Building, “Let’s go this way.” As they approached the ruins they saw circuits from Cait Sith’s body. Cloud bent down to pick them up. “Cait Sith,” Cloud said to himself as he looked at the chips, “you risked your self for your friend.” Cloud turns and looks at the rest of the team. “This is the perfect example of true friendship,” he explained, “Even though Cait’s friend was annoying, Cait Sith, himself, tried to save him.” “I know, Cloud, that you miss him,” Red said, “but Cait was just a stuffed mog controlled by Reeve at AVALANCHE headquarters.” “You’re right,” Cloud said as he put the chips in his pocket, “you’re absolutely right.”

The choppers approached the city fast. As they were about to enter, they spot Sephiroth, heading right for them. “Sir!” one of the pilots shouted, “Sephiroth is on the move and is heading right for us!” “Spread out as best as you can,” the admiral said. He turned toward one of his crewmen. “Get cannons ready! Target: Sephiroth!” the admiral ordered. “Yes sir!” his crewman replied, “cannons in place. Target is locked on.” “Fire on my mark!” the admiral replied, “Not before I give the order.” The crewman was ready to fire the cannons. “Captain,” the admiral said, “tell every battleship except the one farthest away from the carrier to open fire on Sephiroth. Tell the one farthest away to head back for base and let the president know what we’re doing.” “Yes sir,” the captain said as he called the battleships. “The battleships are following your orders, admiral,” the captain reported. “Well done,” the admiral said. The admiral turned toward the captain. “If our jets can’t take him out, we’ll do it!” the captain solutes the admiral, “Yes sir! We’ll be worldwide heroes!” Sephiroth sees the incoming choppers. “Oh, I’m getting really fed up with their attempts to try to destroy me. I guess taking their innocent, precious civilians’ lives isn’t working. Well, I know the perfect thing that will!” Sephiroth zoomed right by the choppers, taking out two of them. “Sir, Sephiroth is heading for the fleet,” the pilot reported. “Get ready to fire,” the admiral said.

Cloud and the rest of the team continued to wander around the city. “Let’s take a break,” Yuffie said, “I’m pooped.” “Okay, we’ll take a five minute break and then continue to walk,” Cloud said. “You know,” Cid said, “when I found Shera dead in my bedroom, I just wanted to attack and kill Sephiroth. He took what meant the most to me.” “We’ve all lost something because of Sephiroth,” Vincent said. “I know,” Cid replied, “but when I saw Sephiroth in my kitchen, I froze in fear. I know it sounds funny but… I…was…afraid. Afraid that if I attacked him, I would’ve died with Shera.” “You did the right thing, Cid,” Barret said, “you lived to tell about it and help us stop him.” Suddenly, they hear sounds of choppers. “LOOK!” Tifa shouted. Everyone looked up in the sky and saw two rescue choppers heading right for them. They landed as Cloud and the rest of the crew approached them. “Cloud Strife?” the pilot asked. “That’s me,” Cloud responded. “I’m the chopper squad leader of the air craft carrier, the Shimpins,” the pilot said, “I’m here to take you there at this minute.” “Okay,” Cloud said, “Sephiroth is on the move so we need to hurry.” The team climbs aboard the two choppers as the choppers take off and head back toward the carrier.

As the naval fleet gets ready to fire, Sephiroth is getting ready to cross the ocean. “Ha ha ha,” Sephiroth said as he laughed, “More annoying people trying to get in my way of my master plan. They shouldn’t be hard to extinguish.” Sephiroth begins to build up more energy. “Sir, he’s in range!” the captain shouted. “All right people,” the admiral said, “This is it! Let’s make America and the rest of the world proud!” The crew cheered. “Ready…aim…FIRE!” the admiral shouted. The carrier and three battleships begin to fire on Sephiroth. “MHA HAHAHAHAHA!” Those pathetic fools think they can hurt me with their high tech weaponry. Well, I’ll so them just how useless their weapons really are!” Sephiroth said as he was getting ready to fire on the fleet. “Admiral!” the captain shouted, “Nothing’s is getting through!” “WHAT?” the admiral shouted. “Our weapons are having no effect!” the captain shouted, “We should stop firing, NOW!” “NO!” the admiral shouted, “We’ll keep firing until he falls dead in the water!” “Admiral look!” a crewmember said. Sephiroth fired an energy ball at the carrier. “Brace for impact!” the admiral shouted. The energy ball went right through the hull, the crew quarters and out the other end. “Direct hit!” the captain shouted. Sephiroth fires another energy ball. It impacts right in the bridge and goes right through the engine, vaporizing anyone in its path. “Oh my God!” Tifa shouted, “he’s destroying the fleet!” “It’s too late to call the fleet off,” Cloud said in a sad voice, “they’ve been wiped out.” The two choppers pass the carrier as it explodes into flames. “HAHAHAHAHAHA!” Sephiroth shouted in a joyous voice, “those fools are now learning not to mess with the Great Sephiroth by their deaths!” Sephiroth fired on the three battleships, destroying them as well. The two choppers fly beside the retreating battleship. Cloud and the others get off the choppers and land on the battleship. “I’m commander of this ship,” the commander said, “You must be Cloud Strife.” “Yes I am,” Cloud said. “This way,” the commander said, “we’ve got resting places for you guys.” As Cloud and the rest of AVALANCHE go inside of the ship, Sephiroth gets ready to fire on it. “No, I’ll let them escape,” Sephiroth said, “my surprise will finish them off! HAHAHAHAH!” Sephiroth suddenly fires an energy beam into the portal. “I’ll waken the WEAPONS in the future and bring them here in the past,” Sephiroth said with a grin on his face, “They’ll finish off Cloud and the rest of his annoying friends and also flatten everything on this planet! It gives me more time to prepare for the biggest surprise of their miserable, pathetic lives: The SUPERNOVA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

Tension grew at AVALANCHE headquarters as the news about the death of millions of people in Manhattan and the destruction of Cait Sith reached the headquarters. “Guys,” Reeve announced, “I have no other choice but to go in the portal and join Cloud to help him fight Sephiroth.” “Reeve you can’t do that,” a secretary said, “You belong here.” “I belong in the past with Cloud and the others. They need all the help they can get over there!” Reeve snapped. “But Cloud ordered you to watch the corporation until he gets back,” another secretary said. “Cloud and the rest of AVALANCHE may never come back again,” Reeve said sadly, “You know what’s going on over there! They’re losing the $#@%$# war! It’s not too much to ask if someone will watch the corporation while I’m gone.” “But you may never come back, Reeve,” secretary #1 said, “if that happens what then?” “That’s a risk I’m willing to take!” Reeve answered, “Mayor, get my chopper ready. I’m going in!” The mayor agreed as he walked off. Cloud’s kids approach Reeve. “Uncle Reeve,” Cloud Jr. asked, “Is daddy and mommy gonna come home?” I sure hope so,” Reeve answered, “That’s one reason I’m going so I can make sure your daddy and mommy are both all right.” Cloud Jr. and Zack both hug Reeve. Reeve enters his chopper. “OK pilot,” Reeve said, “You know what to do.” “Yes sir,” the pilot responded. The chopper took off and headed right into the portal. Everyone in the AVALANCHE building watched and prayed. They prayed for the safety of Reeve, but most importantly, the safety of their leader, the brave warrior, Cloud Strife and the rest of his heroic team.

“How long until we reach the other side?” Reeve asked. “About two minutes,” the pilot answered. All of a sudden they hear roaring noises. “What the hell was that?” Reeve asked in a panicked voice. “I’m not sure,” the pilot responded, “there is nothing on my radar.” Out of nowhere, the five WEAPONS of Earth zoomed by. “Holy Shit!” Reeve shouted as he looked out the window, “It can’t be! We destroyed the five WEAPONS seven years ago!” “They somehow must’ve been rebuilt or whatever,” the pilot said. “Or Sephiroth brought them from the time he summoned Meteor,” Reeve replied, “Pilot, get us there as fast as possible!” “No problem!” the pilot said. The chopper sped off toward the 20th century. “I just hope we get there in time,” Reeve said as he sat back in his chair.

Evening dawned on the brisk, cool waters of the Atlantic. Inside the sub, Cloud and Tifa were resting together in their cabin. “In all my life, I’ve never seen anything more dramatic or devastating,” Cloud said, “When I saw those poor, innocent children slaughtered at the zoo, I got scared that Sephiroth would do that to our children.” “Don’t ever think about bad things that could happen to our children,” Tifa said, “Reeve is taking care of them.” “I know but Reeve isn’t gonna be able to stop Sephiroth,” Cloud said, “a naval fleet couldn’t even stop him!” There was a knock on their door. “Excuse me, Mr. and Mrs. Strife?” a crewmember said, “the commander would like to see you both.” “We’ll be right there,” Tifa said. They both go up to the bridge. “Sorry to bother you two,” the commander said, “but we’ve just figured out Sephiroth’s next target.” “Where?” Cloud asked. “Somewhere in Western Europe,” the commander replied, “more than likely Paris.” “Did you warn them?” Tifa asked. “We’re doing that right now ma’am,” the commander answered. “I’ll tell the rest of the gang,” Cloud said. Just when the crew of AVALANCHE gathered on the bridge, something strange appeared on their radar. “Can you identify it?” the commander asked. “I’ve never seen anything like this before!” the helm guy said, “the object is huge and is heading right for us!” “Is it another one of Sephiroth’s attacks?” Cid asked Cloud. “It can’t be,” Cloud replied, “He would have destroyed us by now. This is something different.” “Sir there it is!” the helm guy shouted as he pointed to the screen. The mysterious object appeared part way over the water. Cloud and the rest of the gang looked at it. “It can’t be!” Barret shouted. “I thought we’d destroyed it,” Vincent said. “What is it?” the commander asked Cloud. “It’s a monster from my time,” Cloud answered, “we call it the Emerald WEAPON.” Sephiroth looked from a distance with an evil smile on his face. “Now, Cloud,” he said, “You and your pesky friends shall never more bother me. I’m free to put my plan into action! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!”
