Part One
Dear Willow and Angel,
I must inform you- I have failed as a Watcher. I have scorned my Slayer and myself. Because of my lack of judgment, Buffy has been turned into the thing she hates and fears most in this world.
She is a vampire.
Before you jump conclusions, you must know what happened. Spike returned to Sunnydale, at least two years after your departure. Soon after they arrived, Buffy found Drusilla and Spike hunting at the playground. Upon finding them, Buffy cornered Drusilla and quickly staked her. Spike, spurred by his natural strength and the anger caused by the death of his lover, held the upper-hand throughout a long and tiring fight.
Eventually, Spike bit Buffy, but instead of killing her, he decided to make her suffer. He changed her and soon after called me at the library and told me to perform the soul-binding ritual. The time in which it took Xander and I to finish the spell was long enough for the demon which inhabited Buffy to kill her mother, and countless other civilians.
Minutes after her soul was returned, Xander and I found a grief-stricken Buffy leaning over the body of her mother stake pressed tightly over her chest. Xander and I managed to pull the suicidal Slayer turned vampire to my house, where Buffy told us all that happened.
Presently, Buffy is staying at my house, and training with me during the day while hunting at night. She is twice as strong as she was when mortal, yet she is not the same bubbley girl we once knew. This reformed Buffy is remorseful, a shell of the highschooler we love.
She is just the Slayer.
Yours truly,
Rupert Giles
Willow let the paper float to the ground. Her normally alabaster skin turned even more pale.
"Willow?" Angel asked his friend worriedly, "What's wrong?"
The half vampire looked across the long wooden table. "It . .It's Buffy,"
Angel's ear's perked at the mention of the Slayer. "What happened?" he asked, fearing for the worst.
He saw tears well in Willow's eyes. "She's been
turned,"Angel took an unneeded gasp of air. He rushed around the table and picked up the fallen piece of paper. Scanning over it twice, he also felt unshed tears start to linger under his lids.
"What should we do?" he asked, somewhat shocked that it didn't come out as a sob.
Willow looked at her hands and thought for a moment. Upon deciding, she looked at the vampire next to her. "It's time to go back to Sunnydale."
A week later, Willow and Angel stood infront of the highschool. Sending an unsure glance in Willow's direction, Angel asked, "Are you sure about this?"
Willow nodded. "But, remember, it's been over two years since they've last seen us. They think I'm dead. This might shock them a little."
"A little?" the two vampires laughed nervously. "Okay." Angel took one deep, purposeful breath. "Lets go."
The moment they stepped inside, the sounds of a struggle were evident to their honed ears. They were about to run to the library when they remembered, Buffy's probably training.
Taking their time to walk through the school. They finally came upon the doors to ‘Slayer Central.'
Peeking through the porthole windows, Angel saw Buffy's back. She was wearing tight black jeans and a black tank-top that left at least an inch and a half of her flat stomach. The turned Slayer was punching and kicking viscously at a person who, at his angle, Angel couldn't recognize.
With one last reassuring glance at each other, the two vampires pushed open the library doors.
Almost as soon as they had even cracked open the doors, Buffy swirled around, game face on.
Seeing Buffy again, especially with her demonic continence, startled both Angel and Willow.
Slowly Buffy's human face melted into form as she recognized the visitors.
"Oh, god," was all she said before passing out.
Like what you see? Tell me!!!
